Hi all, its been one of those days today :( Got all prepared this morning to refurb my wheels but didnt get very far :(
Went to take the 1st wheel off until i realised i have a locking wheel nut and no key to get it off with, phoned up a couple of garages for a price on having them removed and they quoted me £10 a corner providing i supply the new nuts.
The question is, does anyone know a secret tip for removing them???
or am i gonna have to pay the price :(

Quite a bit cheaper than a tenner a corner http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SX200-SEALEY-1-2-2PC-LOCKING-WHEEL-NUT-REMOVAL-SET-/250880395884?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a69a30a6c

Are they O/E "made of choclate" locking nuts?

Have you looked in the door pockets, centre consol, glove box, boot?

It is possible to get them off with the right tools.

Are they the older style 2 prong style ones or the newer mcguard ones which have the design on them?

The older ones will come iff easily with a multihex socket hammered on or the ones linked above

If its the newer mcguard ones they have a collar on them which spins if you put a socket on.
Either need to hammer the collar off which is a pain to do. Or weld a nut on. Or send off a wax print to mcguard who will be able to send you a new key at cost to you.. or find a dealer which still has a master set(we have one but rather far away. Or dynomac locking wheel nut remover set which sometimes works. Tbh 10 a corner for mcguards sounds about right
