Reminds me when our apprentice just had to have Snap on tool boxes, cost him £2000 odd, Halfords had the same thing for about a 1/10th of the price.

I know the quality is 10 x better and if it breaks they replace it, but on his wages hate to think how long he was tied into the weekly pay back plan.

I blame it on the F1 car garages, with all the snap on tool boxes sitting there!!!

It's a badge thing, that's all. Years ago I had an account and bought what I needed to do the job. Back then there were very few other quality options. Today I buy what I need to do the job, if it's a one shot job I buy cheap and if it breaks I throw it away. If it is something I will use several times then I buy a decent brand or quality.

Halfords do a lifetime guarantee on there advanced range.
Bits break you take them back and they replace them.

glad the story turned out good but we always buy snap on, yes its expensive but in my experience it is the best. Halfords stuff is good but you have to keep the receipt or they argue like mad. Snap on is no argument just change.

Bergen is reasonably good just dont buy anyting other than spanners and sockets.

Halfords ratchets break...regularly....

Snap on stuff like power tools etc are unbeatable, more torque more power and they do the job time after time. Its not just a name but the best you can buy

halfords are okay but broke a few ratchets, but they are good for replacing stuff in my experience
ive only broke one snap on screwdriver and a ratchet to date and they replaced it no problem, matco is another good make that doesnt have such a big name here but is big in the states
