After a run in with a deer my front lower crossmember is bent.

I've bought a replacement it just needs to be spot welded on. Thought I'd ask here if there are any MG enthusiasts in my area that are up to the job.
Tea, coffee, bacon butties and beer tokens available!

It's been repaired before by the looks of things. I'll drill off the old one and prep ready if someone could help would be much appreciated.

If you cant find anyone theirs a fairly cheap garage round the back of HI-Q that would do it for you.

Looking for a mobile person ideally so I can do the other work at the same time.

They certainly don't look like original factory spot welds.

Still looks as though they held up ok

Quite lucky if thats all the damage you got from hitting a dear
My mate hit a dear in a mk6 escort and it pushed the engine back 3 inches on the one side lol

wasn't on alcester heath was it? had them run out on me a few times there

Yeah, plug welds like those are every bit as strong as spot welds, if they'd ground them flat they would look just like spot welds.

It was on the Warwick road. Someone had just hit it and It took the second blow from me hence why the damage is low down.

Could have been much worse.

Can you not weld it yourself? Just wee spots, imagine youd pick it up okay :)

Ste. I've seen that before. Nice entry! Under side of my car was like that. There still clumps of hit fused to the back box. Also, that reminds me I need to get a new exhaust hanger rubber for the centre section.

Nope. Can't imagine it would be too hard. Never touched a welder and do t have access to one.
