If it's auto lock it can be disabled using T4, or when it self locks as you start moving just press the padlock button on the dash and it will unlock all the doors

Any of the guys with the diagnostic can disable this as it is an "option"

Driving such a desirable Yellow one, I'm glad of the auto-lock.

All those nasty car jackers, just waiting to get their grubby hands on the Yellowness.

It is.

On the Mk2. you drive about 10 metres and all the doors lock down.

There is a over-ride button on the dash that unlocks the car if you stop and the passenger wants to get out, and the driver doesnt.

Or if the driver wants to get out and leave the car engine running.

If you stop the car and turn the engine off it unlocks itself.

Can get further than that if you stay under 4mph!

Having driven Mk2s with auto-lock enabled and disabled, I have to say, I prefer it enabled. Don't need to remember to lock the doors in the city, or unlock after stopping.

I feel the same, when I first had the car, I wanted to get it disabled, but it took me a while to work out that the button on the dash would override it, and after that decided to keep it.
