Is there anything missing from later mk1's that I can add from the yellow that rover may have scrimped on?

Door cards with the strip in.
A comfy, more plush armrest lid.
Flocked glovebox.
Soundproofing.

What the hell is a flocked glovebox?!

Flocking is where you coat the surface in adhesive then fire charged bits of fibre (??) at it so they stick, usually people flock their dash in race cars so it doesn't reflect in the windscreen when its sunny. Why rover 'flocked' the glovebox is beyond me, unless its no really flocked just felted.

incidentally the glovebox in my 51 plate is just plastic.

I imagine it stops things rattling and scraping around in the glovebox.

the heated screen is probably the rarest and most practical upgrade I've heard of for a while.

Bit too much effort for me, plus I don't drive to work so never usually needing the car first thing in the morning.

That was never fitted by MGR.

I'm not sure the ZS ever had map pockets, it could be a 45 thing.

Yes, there is a chap on another forum that has had them made but you are looking at the best part of £300 fitted.

Sure I read that the 75/ZT had them and they'd fit and the 45 I took the heated seat switches from had them but they were totally ruined be some idiot!
Not seen a ZS with them and I have raided a lot of early mk1's.

Yeah, mine came from a zt, they're a straight swap with zs ones.

The production line fitted a few things that werent standard, as the move from BMW/Rover to MGR messed up the parts lines..............When the local MGR garage was still running, I looked through the microfiche, and things it said my old rover should have, didnt tie up with what was fitted at Longbridge...........

Most manufactures will do that if they run short of a part and can sustitute.

My yellow one had one previous owner who looked after the car like "normal" people do i.e. put petrol in and drive and take the car to the garage for a service so the car was as it came from the dealer.
