I wouldn't bother trying to make a mk1 unit work, you can replace the relays in the mk2 unit but you'll need to be handy with a soldering iron.

The box is for the 1 shot function on the drivers door, TBH I thought the mk2 would have one as well.

Changed a relay in the scu already and it hasn't solved it, well I changed the one which was meant to be drivers door and clearly it wasn't as its got the clicking noise from the unit which suggests its that. I want the one click down function and the mk1 ha the relay in the door. I'm taking the live wire from the mirror. Any idea where I can get the diagram for that mk1 unit?

Had my cards off tonight, the box is not on the mk2.

If you are going to use it I would get a loom from a mk1 door and then add a power feed from the fusebox.

You'd be safer with a heavier wire than the one from the mirror. Last time i retro fitted electric windows to a mk2 from a mk1, i ran my own heavy feed with inline fuse from the fusebox. Its not a nice job to do properly.

It shows it in the Haynes manual but not a wiring diagram of the unit itself, the 4 pin multi plug on the one you've linked to goes to the drivers door window switch, the smaller connector is for the power and earth.

Didn't see the reference to taking a power feed from the mirror, nasty idea, like running a speaker cable to your starter.
