my horns being playing up so i fitted an airhorn, much better than standard. It took a bit of working out to match in with my current system. Would it be helpful to put a how to up? if people want it i'll do it

How do you start them???

Can never find the stupid little thumb buttons.

Got two sets sitting in the shed, tempted to fit them.

Did see some multi air horns for £20 on ebay, but thought they were illegal.

Oh how very Dukes of Hazzard! :D
Can we have a YouTube clip of the noise please?

Love em!!!
Had a set on my old R25, bloody loud they were, love'd em.

Have to admit, i got my dad to wire them in for me, as i didn't have a clue.

Weren't dixie horns, as they are illegal to be the main horn on a modern car, but just a 2 tone pair.

Cheers

These aren't the illegal ones just a 3 tone set. I'll get a video and put up the wiring diagram in the next few days

Have you put the horns where the standard horn is in the wing?

I put the ones on my R25, in the same place as the standard horn in the wing, but was tight just for a pair of horns.

So i'm just wondering where you put a triple set.

I'll take a pic, but they're at the bottom either side of the rad you can just about see them through the grille

The best advised way for fitting airhorns, is to keep the tubing as short as possible, but obviously has to fit the car etc.

Good idea! I was looking to replace mine as they sound so gay! Big beefy V6 with a poncy horn, not good!

The horn suffered from project drive going from 2 to 1 early on, my mk2 is getting a pair that came from a maestro I broke.

heres some pics, wiring diagram and vid to follow. This shows where i took the live from, including the 15a fuse. The earth point can be seen next to the horns compressor using the oe earthing wire. the others wires going to the relay are located near the horns but up inside and water protected. simple to do when i worked out where to take the correct live and how to work out the relay as the horn i bought had no instructions.

Off topic but, that splitters awesome. If it werent for the roads round here i'd have to get one. But it would get ripped off in a week.

heres a video. Its not picking up the bass tone just the higher ones so it does sound better in real life than this. nice and loud though.
