Most of you should know my car, immaculate MK2 180 in PBT. This sale is not a foregone conclusion, I love my car but the property ladder is a greater need I have.... I may withdraw the Ad at any time if I come up with an alternative plan. It is ONLY advertised on this site so far.

37500 Miles
MOT - Sep 2014 (No advisories)
TAX - Nov 2013

Recent news from the housing market forces my hand here. I love my car to pieces, you know I do. But £600-700 a month is too much to spend on petrol when I MUST get on the housing market ASAP before it boom's. For this reason I will happily PX for a Diesel.

Bad points
- Climate control External Temperature reads no lower than 90 degrees. FIXED
- TF wheel has no working horn currently. Simply need's earthing. Should be fixed by time of sale. FIXED
- Intermittent squeak at low speeds on bumpy roads from NS Arch, no MOT advisories, its a mystery. I'm still thinking it is the brake shield, its pretty battered!

PX for a Diesel in good condition, or make me a good offer.

Good luck with sale mate, some nice mods, mine will be matching soon!

Slightly OT but the squeak you speak of does it sound like a bit of metel that is loose? Mine makes this noise when on bumpy road from the OS front but MOT guy checked and said all the suspension and driveshafts are fine. Really annoying as its quite loud!

:ohmy::ohmy:

Of all the cars to see in the for sale section, this was the last on my list !

If you truly want to sell it - Good luck - lot of money, time and effort gone into it.

Well I am only going to sell it to an enthusiast for a good price, so no it probably wont be sold! But it is here so if anyone fancies it... Not that I'm going to stop caring for it I adore my car, just trying to be sensible. No more mod's for me!

FYI I have already turned down an offer of £2000

No more mod's for me!

Well, come on. one more...

This was the last ZS i thought i'd see in the for sale section. Its the car i wanted my PBT to be but never would. To many swirl marks and stone chips in mine. Worth £2.5k of anybodys cash with full service and clean history that comes with it.

Just a thought but you could put your money into and LPG conversion and benefit from diesel economy but petrol powered V6 grunt.

Cheers Steve very kind :'(

Yes the Black Oak will be going in! I imagine I will be keeping it unless I get a very good offer so I wont be treating it any differently :p

Now on .org

Personally do not think I will end up selling it. Preferably an exchange for a Diesel is the only way I'd part with it unless I got a very good price.

Either way I don't care I love the car.

On a sidenote (dont mean to mess up your ad), can you let me know how you get on with the property bit when it comes to it ? It's something that may well benefit me too, rented since I was 18 (now 28) and I need to buy before it's too late as well.

Up for £2000 for the next week or so.

The car is going into the bodyshop for a repair this week but I have seen a car I am after so I will take £2000 for the Black Beauty if it is within the next week or two otherwise I will be changing the parts back to standard and PX.

Hi mate,

Very interested in your car, it's a shame you have to let her go but I could give her a loving new home.
I have just returned from Afghan and thinking of treating myself and upgrading from my Mk1. Unfortunately I have to be in London for a Parade this coming weekend so wouldn't be able to come and see her and potentially put 2 Grand in your hand until 23rd, not sure if you can hold on that long, let me know.

Thanks

Dave

Hey buddy, thanks for your interest.

Sounds promising, Id love it to go to an enthusiast. Where about's on leave are you?

I drive past Tidworth on the A303 most weekends towards Templecombe (Somerset). So I have some suggestions.

- I could meet you in Tidworth on my way down, you could take the car out, and if happy, drop me off in Templecombe & take the car back!

- Or I can hang slack and not take any parts off until after the 23rd if you are genuinely interested in coming up to see it, long way though!

- You could view it on my way down, I could drop it off on my way back to camp on the Sunday & get the train back.

- Preferably for me, Id stop at yours on the way down - and if you still want the car, meet me that weekend around East Dorset/Hant's area once I find a car suitable for me (So I could use your money as a deposit) and if I find that no car is suitable for me, I could drop it off at yours and get the train, or you could come up and collect it :)

Potentially this 'Could' happen this coming weekend if you are up for it, and assuming it comes out of the bodyshop to my satisfaction.

Well, the car is out of the body-shop in the morning. Fingers crossed it is all good so Dave can buy it and I can make up the rest of my deposit on this bad boy.

Looks nice, love Alfa. My pal went from a ZTT to a clover leaf 3.2l 260bhp 147. Gorgeous inside and out.

Just not sure it's what I'd do if I was saving for a house deposit.

Overall I'll be about £150 down per month - I admit I've gone a bit crazy and against my intentions here but at the end of the day I have a great deal on the table, 2 1/2 years warranty (Not brand new, 10k on the clock) and owned outright in 3 years, No MOT's for 3. Am still able to save £800 per month comfortably with £550 spare after everything is paid. So I'm pretty happy overall.

Its not as fast as it looks, Its the 2.0L 140Bhp Derv, 62.8MPG combined (So about 55) and have been sensible in that respect! £30 a year tax as well.

Well - The car is now with Dave (drroberts490) and I think he is very happy :D

I was upset, but am very happy that it really is going to a great home.

I also picked up my Alfa today, that soon put a smile back on my face :D

Love that alfa, absolutely stunning car. Does it go as good as it looks ?

POMPSKI
23-11-13, 08:15 PM
Actually yes it does to a degree, I was not expecting it too.

Only a 2.0L 140 Brake Diesel - But in Dynamic Mode it absolutely flies... Certainly not a great deal slower than the 180, immense torque. In Normal mode it happily chug's along at 60MPG, in all weather it is perfect in the wet - Very impressive.

First 100 miles, 58mpg average - Was not a slouch either...

Am I right in thinking alfa only make 2 cars now. I know its not quite the same but my wife has fiat bravo 60 plate 1.4 Turbo. Its a properly high spec with piano black dash, 18 inch wheels etc and she absolutely loves it. My brothers neighbour has a gullieta (excuse the spelling), and when you see the two cars side by side they look quite similar. Kinda like looking at a golf next to an A3 I guess.

POMPSKI
23-11-13, 08:59 PM
I had a 57 plate top Spec Bravo, I loved mine too - Yes they are very similar in shape. The Alfa is magnitudes better in build quality, comfort and everything else though. (As you would expect)

Alfa have stopped making the 159 & Brera now, so yeah only 2 cars at the moment. Or 3 including the 8C. The 4C will be along shortly, what a beast that thing is.
