First picture I took when I got it home a good few weeks ago.

On 16" Fox alloys.

Had a little look around it today and noted down all the maintenance thing that needed doing to it before I start changing little bits I have planned. Changed the wheels as the 16" Fox one's were just to small and gave a harsh ride. Also gave it a bit of a clean.

Looking good, might be worth getting winter tyres on the wheels.

My derv was useless in the snow, less it was my lack of icy driving skills!!!

Got winter tyres on the 16" foxes just wanted to check the 17" would still fit with no problems as the car has been lowered a touch.

mine was fine Pete, I have not bothered with winter tyres to date - but I do have an ATB diff fitted so that probably helps things when a wheel would be slipping normally!

Nice, like the spoiler too, the low level spoiler suits the saloon.

The spoiler is going I don't like it :(. I'm just undecided what to put on there at the moment, either a lip spoiler or an extreme.

peterzs

Extreme all the way.

Have to meet up sometime and compare notes.

Looking good.

Sorry still a no, I really don't like them. Could do a lip and extreme, haven't seen many of them on a mk1.

peterzs

Don't think I've seen a Mk1 with just a lip spoiler. Much better IMHO to the extreme.

welshone
15-12-13, 04:39 PM
I've seen one mk1 with extreme and lip but none with just the lip. So that could be the way to go :) Had the smiles from my TB V6 with the extreme spoiler so I think it's time for a change.

I'd leave it as is, saw it the other day and it looked just dandy.

You saw mine???

I doubt it was mine, mine looks like a beaten up shed

I no longer work in Crawley and haven't for a good few months. I've transferred to the Brighton Branch and am now inside instead of on the vans :) Yep a promotion within 12 months of working there, i must be doing something right

Well great start to 2014.

Engine light has just come on and MOT next week.

My torque software is unable to read any stored errors.

Just researched obd2 and it's not compliant on pre 2004 MG ZS TD's.

and to top it off it mad weather out there

Until you can get it cleared, you could rig the eml light to come on with the the oil warning light.

At least that way, it appears to go on/off as normal, until you can get it sorted.

Cheers

OK i've had another play with my code reader and managed to get a code. The code that's come up is p1404. From a little research this points to the EGR or the MAF can someone please confirm this :)

I've just given the MAF a little clean with carb cleaner. I am going to get a Pierburg MAF Sensor in a few weeks and blanking of the EGR also.

peterzs
01-01-14, 05:09 PM
didnt think the MAF sensor puts the light on.

less its really dead, I suppose, just that its never been mentioned at the same time.

Does the car run OK, pulls in the gears and red lines??

Yes runs ok and pulls to red. So i'm guessing MAF is ok?

1404 seems to point more towards an egr fault.

welshone

sorry i've written the wrong code down, it's p1402.

From mg-rover.org, P1402, egr metering orifice restricted.

So blanking it off will solve that problem?

Other info suggests cleaning out the egr valve will put the mil off.

Nice thread, I wondered what the little plug thing was in the blanking kit.

Already had plans to blank off the EGR so if that's the problem then that two birds with one stone.

Thanks guys. it's info and support like this that makes owning a MG :)
