I'll have a dig around, I'm sure this car has appeared on one of the mgr forums before, and not in a good way.

Ok Pete cheers,

Car is not far from me and I have seen it before but at the time the guy wanted silly money for it, he still does and I will be surprised if it sells.
I have stuck a bid in and would go to 3k but that's about it. It does look a well put together unit but hey it's just a matter of when rather than if something fails lol.

Will wait and see what u can dig up.

I can't find any of the info I was looking for, but I would ask the seller what they know about the MG sport & racing vin plate, the cars original reg was FB04CVL registered in Nottingham.

I'm impressed, it has factory fit cruise but why can't you zoom on the engine picture?

This is the one I saw at Pride Of Longbridge earlier in the year. It was car of the day as far as I was concerned, and absolutely THE best ZS I've ever seen, bar none. Never knew about the Cat C though.

Another oddity with the interior, it has switches in the instrument surround which are then duplicated in the centre console, so is it a mk1 with a mk2 body kit ?.

Go and have a look at it Paul and see what's going on.

A few things would worry me, like an under drive pulley but still running a 7th injector.

Nice, every thing I would want if I was having another.

Enright
28-10-13, 02:19 PM
No, the switches in the instrument surround are the cruise and the headlamp washers Pete. It's definately a Mk2.

Yeah, had my confused for a moment as the cruise switch is normally to the right of the wheel.

Tbh if it had a buy now of £3250 I would of bought it but £4250 is just too much regardless of what has been spent and done, I know having been there before with the mk1 charged motor.
The smaller pulley may just be putting it back to the original size that the kit came with, sprintex dropped boost with a bigger pulley on later kits due to problems. Unlike Gary / Nathan's motor which had an even smaller pulley made up to overdrive the charger.

Still don't think he will get what he wants as the market is sooo small.

But I do miss the whine / noise from the mk1!

Still last time he was wanting 5k plus for it lol.

MMMMMMMMMM

this must be to do with the three units that were imported about 4 years ago to a garage in warwick.

So tempting to bid but the problem is... just if they go wrong then to put it and do it right is so costly.

just noticed it is bridge garage. They were the people who purchased the units from sprintex.

That was why it rang a bell, did they not offer conversions at one point ?, I remember a thread on one of the forums.

No put the chargers on ebay and kept one for himself. One of the ones sold went to a guy in kent way iirc and another went to the blue on on here.

Rid of the seventh injector.
Proper management.
Lots of money? Haha

petet16
31-10-13, 08:13 AM
6 Red band injectors and dta would make it a whole lot more reliable imo.

You'd think people on a FB page for ZS's would perhaps sign up to these forums. Most of the chat is pish bar the odd few!

Sold for £3.5k.

Sold for £3.5k.

Ummm tad more than I thought it was worth at current market levels but still prob a fraction of what the guy has ploughed into it!

Was twitching with a bid this morning but glad I was able to resist :-)

Supercharged_Z
07-11-13, 05:35 PM
I got bored. I wouldnt be surprised to see it for sale again.

Genuinely if it sold for 3.5k then the supercharger and other mods added 2.5k to the cars worth... fair play if so.

ZRed

Enright
08-11-13, 06:08 PM
Goldie, it's easily THE best ZS I've ever seen. Every single optional extra on the list, and a few that weren't on the list too!

Personally I wouldn't spend £3.5K on any ZS, but if money was no object, THAT is the one I'd have without question. It's the complete package.

petet16
08-11-13, 06:15 PM
Just my 2p worth, it's the complete package, apart from the lack of forged pistons, 6 uprated injectors, and something like dta management.

Supercharged_Z
08-11-13, 09:12 PM
you guys are mental. Its 3.5K plus another 2.5K on a good day or 3K on a bad day.

Any car that may owe you 6k and still only achieve 260 bhp in 2001 - 2006 format is overpriced. A modern day diesel will show it up I am afraid.

Its rubbish I had superchargers for 6 years but 3.5k is so much money, let alone the fact its not forged.

If money is no object and you dont mind driving around in a underpowered over priced car. then sweet.

Sad to hear on a ZS forum but just fact.

I woukd love to buy this. There is jus something about them. All I ever talk about is my old supercharged zs. The one that got away. Considering all the extras this car has its not unreasonable money

I do now have a supercharger kit which I may fit to my zt. Or hold onto it and get another zs in years to come.

I didn't know you could fit MG TF brakes to a ZS.
If you can I'd be interested as they look great and being bigger should perform better.
I'd prefer the solid rather than drilled/grooved ones though.

Chap has owned it from 2 years old and it was a cat C before that, I guess it will be okay 7 or more years on.

But as it's a hatch it's not that good.
