It will depend entirely upon your circumstances chief. Anything anyone tells you here is just from personal experiance revolving around their personal circumstances. Everyone is different so i'm afraid it's a case of shopping around and a process of elimination. Still, £1600 to insure a 180 at your age is nothing short of a miracle !!

Try a broker (touchline) ive been with them since i passed my test they have allways been good in their customer service, and they will help you find a good price

Try Greenlight Insurance.......

you have to have at least 1years NCB and its worth going the modded car route...

my quote was seriously cheap until I realised I had made a **** up and couldn't go with the quote. I won't say what......although I do believe I mentioned on here what I had done

you can't get a quote if you have a hotmail addy either as it will delete it as spam as it did mine.......I set up a Gmail account ;)

£1600 isn't that bad at 19. In fact just yesterday i got quoted £1945 (25, 4 NCB, 3PP, and minor mods) for mine! Needless to say i didn't take it...

that's a bloody bargain! I was paying that for my 105 ZR at 19 and I'm still over £1k at 21 for the ZS.

Bite their hand off at that price!

I would... I've just got my renewal quote from the company i'm with today, and it's just under £740. I doubt i'll be able to better it but i'll try. There's nothing to loose. :) (25, 4Yr NCB, Minor mods & 3PP Declared)

I am certain they won't be able to beat it.

Greenlight cut my quote in half compared to the majority. In the end through a **** up on my side I settled with Admiral who was the next cheapest.

well i'm with Halifax and i'm paying £275, full comp, but then i am an old git at 42, was paying £600 for my 180........hence one of the reasons i have a 120 now, that and the ever rising fuel costs

hehehe...don't let her near it!! i've always had great quotes off esure and have used them for years, they had quoted 387 was about to it the 'buy now' button and gocompare ad came on the telly (who said adverts don't work!) 5 mins later, 316! Did phone them first to make sure they'd got everything right! I'm SURE you could get yours in the same price range or even chepaer than mine as I live in the Birmingham Bronx as well !!!
Good luck and post back what you got it for....

Oh maaaaannn! Was trying to remember them, they got an office round the corner from me...don't think they would have beaten 316 but might just give em a try, you do get a 14 day cancellation period!

ian...most online quotes are valid for 90 days....get a cheaper quote earlier and you'll have longer smiling !!

Sometimes I'm glad I'm 40 :mml:........ then a nano second later I think I'd rather be 18 and paying 2k insurance....

dunno how you young uns do it...my first car was a mini 850 (well thats what it said on the log book :shifty:) and was £125 or the year, 3rd party fire and theft at 17 years and 2 days! Was actually a 1380 with straight cut box......think I prefer my 180 though!!

have u got the workshop service sheets for the 180? you can make sure the garage is doing everything that mgr said should be done...brake fluid change is one item that springs to mind at 3 years...

My apologies ian (halfway thru a bottle of wine!) brake fluid is 2nd year then every two years...

have a look at this thread...

http://www.themgzs.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=598

gives a basic list of what should be done on each service.

may be worth checking if the brake fluid was done last year, mine wasn't and i'm about to get it done...

will find the link to the service sheets and post it...
