Looks like he's had the runaround off time wasters.

Looks like he's had the runaround off time wasters.

And he's just lost the drive to get it done - seems a shame really. Engine sounds like it'll really go when it gets up and running....

If I had the money spare I would take a look as that could be a nice little pocket rocket if sorted. No matter if it isn't a real one, even replica rally cars fetch good money. Besides only a lottery win will enable a genuine 6R4 purchase and what might you find?

Lottery to buy it and run it!

The chap whose I drove had it serviced every 1000 mile! Pretty sure every time it went out something played up.

He was moving it in flip flops and foot slipped off clutch followed by a bang and a £3k bill for the damage to the box lol.

Still fecking awesome motor thou

I remember a few years back, reading about 6R4's being sold off for £13,500. Think they had to make so many so they could run them. Then they couldnt move the ones they had left.

Still a lot of money back in the day, but was affordable with a loan or two.

Did have a 5 minute dream about going for one, then thoughts of mortgage, kids, food bills and the dream was over.

:axe::axe: :D:D

We had 20 of them at Gates, back in 87, the garage tried to convert them to road cars!!!! We lost money on all of them, but apparantly the technicians has a great time PDIing them....

I remember there being a yard full of them with no takers once Group B was banned. From what I remember that's when they did the clubman conversions to shift them on. Pretty sure Will Gollop went through a few as well!

Can't be many decent examples left, so a copy can fetch as much as a real one these days. That can be seen across many marques.

I remember being at Bath and Cirencester Park in '86 watching and listening to the Group B animals in action, those were the days.
