Looking for a replacement for the wife's poogeut 307. I.4 diesel. She'd like a 59 plate Astra. I don't know much about them. Anyone here rave them?

Newer shape are allright to be fair. We used the old shape as response cars and they are pretty cak to be honest. I'm punting round in a 60 plate old shape at work at the moment - and it's pants.

We use Hyundai i30s now as patrol cars. Much better than astras in my opinion - depends on your budget I guess. There are better out there though.

Small petrols can be just as frugal as diesels these days and go for a small engined turbo petrol and you get the best of both worlds.

First of the new, must be a 5 door. Ideally 1.6 petrol. Maybe Sri or Sri XP?

She quite likes these but a tad over budget.

She's not keen on any of those, for her budget she'd only be going a couple of years newer than what's she's in now.

Factor the cost of personal plates in and age doesn't matter as much, most people just see a better make of car in your drive.

Search is over, ended up staying with pug and got a 308 1.6 VTI Sport.
