Hi all

First post here (I'm a regular on .org).

Here's my wish list:

- MKII ZS saloon.
- Engine can be 180 / 1.8T / T16
- Low mileage
- Fairly open on colour, not a huge fan of silver though.
- If it's a 180, belts done already is preferred but if the price reflects the fact that I need to weigh out £500 as soon as I get it on the drive I'll consider it.

[Admin: please delete the next bit if it's outside of the house rules]

I'm a cash buyer but if you're after a tuned MKI ZR TD with MKII rear end and skirts, I'm open to swaps/PX.

Let me know what you've got, either on here or .org.

Cheers

James

Hi and :hi: James.

Mark 2's seem to be bargains at the moment, hope one comes up.

Hi!
Thanks for the welcome.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a nice example...

My ZR was and is my first car and that's been in my ownership for the last five years! Just can't find any other manufacturer that offers the same value as MG-R's.

There is a nice looking mk2 180 on gumtree for £895. I posted about it the other day. Welcome along ;)

Hi, thanks for the welcome.

If it's the one I'm thinking of (aftermarket black alloys?) then it's got a fair few miles on the clock.

I'm happy to pay towards the upper end for a nice ZS that I'll keep long term.
Failing that, it's a 1.8T ZT and I tune it up :p

haha!
There is a silver I've seen that I do like. I think it's quite rare though. Maybe a monogram.
Any ideas?

Don't think there are any silver based monogram colours .... When properly looked after and cleaned, starlight does have a nice metallic flek in it, so maybe you just saw a clean one !

Ahh maybe it was a clean one.
I think the monogram that's silver-ish is moonshine. Seen it on a MKII ZR and it looks gorgeous.

Do go faster stripes effect the handling and if so, what colour stripe has the best all round results?

Dan keeps threatening to put on Viper Stripes, think the extra 20bhp might have put him off.

Not stripes, but loved this one.

I wanted to buy a supercharged ZT but just couldn't get cover below £1400. Sad times. Wouldn't have been too far off the dreadnought right?

Think the Dreadnought one had a special engine.

The supercharged 260's are about 400 bhp, I think it is.

Dreadnoughts own ZT was probably around that.

That's why I wanted to buy one done already mate.
Just like the T16, people don't do the conversions expecting to make their money back.
