Replaced my ZS diesel with a ZS 120 hatchback with full 180 bodykit. Will get some pics up.

Couple of things, the drivers side window has stopped working, passenger side is fine and all other electrics are fine, so don't think its the BCU, more likely to be the window regulator? Any idea how to change it?

Also, it needs a new exhaust, mid pipe and back box. Will a 180 mid pipe and back box fit a 120? I image its slightly different from a saloon to a hatchback?

Thanks

If the window doesn't work either way it does make it less likely to be the BCU, it normally fails in just one direction, but I wouldn't discount the possibility, can you hear the relays in the BCU click when you operate the drivers window switch.

The 180 exhaust will fit a 120, saloons have a longer tail pipe than the hatchbacks.

Yes, when I press the switch I can hear the click but nothing happens. Passenger side works fine and all other electrics are fine. Regulator?

So a 180 saloon back box won't fit a 120 hatchback? But if both were hatchback it would? Is the mid pipe the sameon both?

You have it re the exhaust.

The window does sound like the regulator, it would be worth taking the door card off and checking the regulator plug to see if it's getting power when the switch is operated.

Thanks. Don't suppose you have a pic of the bit I should be looking at?

Regarding the exhaust, there is also a difference between mk1 and mk2 exhausts.

Ok, will just get one for the MK2 120!

Just need to sort the window.

Whereabouts are you Lou, might be able to help with the window regulator.

I'm in Devon. Strangely the window worked today! It hasn't been working for the last 3 days, tried it today and it worked. Very strange! Will try it again tomorrow.

I need a new exhaust and want something fairly decent, I want a Janspeed xpower back box and midpipe but can't really afford it. Would this fit? Mine is a 2005 MK2 120 hatchback.

The exhaust will fit, but if it was made for a mk1 it will be slightly short on a mk2, probably worth contacting the seller to find out what it came off.

The window sounds a bit random, switch maybe ?.

Ok cool thanks, will message the seller.

The window isn't working again today!! Very strange, will take the door card off next week and see what the problem is. If it is the regulator, what should I be looking for? Never had this problem before, both on my old ZS or my ZR.

Maybe the BCU is at fault? The central locking as started playing up today.

I removed a fuse that could have been something to do with the alarm. Now I cannot lock the car with the fob. It wouldn't let me lock or unlock with the fob at first, alarm was going on when I opened the door. I then locked the other 3 doors form the push button and locked the drivers door with the key. That has kicked in the alarm as the red light on the dash flashed lots of times like it should when you lock it.
I just went to try and unlock it after being left like that for about 3 hours, it unlocked fine, opened the drivers door fine, no alarm. Shut the door and went to lock it, but it won't lock, so did it again via the key!!!!

Very nice.

Your random problems could be soggy sounder syndrome, the alarm sounder is under the expansion tank and is prone to water and corrosion inside.

I'm really enjoying driving it.

Always get a few niggles when buying a second hand car!

Thanks, will have a look. Is the sounder independant from the car battery? If I disconnect the car battery will this disconnect the sounder? Will it still go off in my face and make me deaf!!

The sounder has it's own battery lol.

I guess it will go of when I disconnect it then!?
