Back in a ZS!

Couldnt help myself... after starting a new job 49 miles away from home, I took the ZS 180 off the road and picked up a cheap 75 diesel. Very comfy but oh so boring.
Spotted a trophy blue ZS Diesel for sale and acquired it pretty quickly. I;m enjoying the monotonous drive now lol.

Right now its more of ShedS but give me a few days and it'll be looking pretty sweet again. It went on a 1000 mile trip up and around Scotland recently and has not been cleaned inside or out, but that will soon change :D

It feels like a bloody go kart compared to the 75. Steering is heavy and responsive, you feel every imperfection in the road surface, and when you put your foot down it actually gets a move on.

Up at 7:00am to get down to Morrisons petrol station to use their vacuum, looking much better now. Then back home and after the school run was over, gave it a damn good clean and polish.
Its on Hairpins right now which have new tyres on, tempted to move my 11's over but that would require buying new tyres.

Also, anyone think the standard ZS td brakes are any good? Noticed its got drums on the back, and tiny discs on the front. I'm very much tempted to get some SDi's, but not at all confident in those tiny brakes. Are they 262mm solids or something?

That is an indication that it's a 101PS version rather than 115PS.

Very true, and its still quicker than a 75 CDT. Apparently 55mpg is easily achievable in one of these.

Speaking of drums... how much work/cost is involved getting rid of them and having suitable discs at the back instead?

I wouldn't bother getting rid of the drums personally, for the amount of braking effort provided by the rear brakes they are more than adequate, and the handbrake issues which affect rear calipers are non existent with drums.

it was not always the case it was a 101 not a 115 with drums not disks - it was cerntianly and indicator but the 'rule'.... a lot of 101's had the 115 map put on during servicing by friendly MGR garages etcc

if it was a factory 115 it would have the 83KW sticker on the passenger B pillar - at least that was consistent!
