I hate black cars with black wheels finished off with grey tyres! It looks so naff! At least chuck some tyre black on them! Agreed it does look tired and the seats look to have collapsed, still could be a bargin if you want to make it right. But the engine bay is minging and that puts me off.

Where does one start - post pictures of the registration document and the registration is asking for someone to clone the car.

I bought it!
What have I done....??
Replaced slave...changed oil...fixing cracked weld on one of the silencers, cleaned the ITG filter...it looks a little chavvy what with all the stickers an all, I think they put some people off...Dealer put it on the lift for me, pretty much perfect under there..got some green stainless hoses coming (in keeping) Took it to the Lakes last week returned best part of 40mpg

It's OK.. it really is..the dealer did it no favours at all..strange really..
Did the mesh myself..brush + silver hammerite put some wheel centres on, gave it a day with the 3m mop and here we are.
Having a go at the silencer tomorrow...I'll let you know

Is this the same one that got posted about over on .org? Sure I read about this on there. Well done either way, great buy and nothing a little TLC won't sort.

Then might I suggest you get your Crufts accredited Judging badges retaken..humph!
Reet Dog indeed
A little bit of a Barker I'll grant you!
Bit of polish though some imagination followed by a couple of days hard graft and a healthy sense of humour....
Seriously I thought like you on first impsection but when I got it up on their lift and had a good look under..recent front discs..recent shocks all round..plenty of paperwork...you never know..maybe I'll be fortunate

Personally when i go to a garage forecourt i expect to see a nicely clean car, not dumped around the back of the garage because it looks terrible....

If im buying a car i dont expect to have to take it home and spend several days cleaning it removing tat from it

IMO at the time i had my eyes on several other mk2s and IMO in the condition it was in (chav stickers door handles nearly falling off not the right alloys interior filthy) i thought what a pile of crap

Sorry if my opinion of your vehicle offends you but this is what i thought at the time

I expect youll make it mint again

My reply was an attempt (failed) at humour
Absolutely no offence taken at all
Everything you say is true...I have no idea why the dealer..who was really helpful by the way...made so little attempt at "marketing" the car?
I'm on the door handle problem when the weather heats up and I get my glass fibre repair kit prepared

just woken up bit grumpy lol

the dealer was helpul to me too just i think they were more interested in the newer cars they had and just wanted to get rid really

out of interest what did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking?

I gave him £700 but when I was underneath I noticed both CV boots had small splits so he replaced those and put me half a tank of gas in.
I've stuck a few badges on fitted a set of wheel centres and swapped the slave other than that it seems to go pretty well

Not.bad car for the money, sounds like you have looked at the important parts like the mechanicals and not how clean it is, looks spotless now
