anybody breaking a V6? 6 coil packs needed

Prior to late 2002 the KV6 had 3 coils directly on the spark plugs (rear bank) and 3 connected by HT leads (front bank). The later engines had all the coils directly connected to the spark plugs. Which type do you need?
