Tbh I couldn't remember if I ever could or not...

Must have loosened something when I fitted the stereo ..

I hade to cut the back out inside the slot to fit it in

Dash is now a bit dim on the edges both sides...

Odd, as I recall there's 3 bulbs, one in the middle, and one each end.

That makes sense as the ones at each end must be out.....

Our MGs do not have such advance technology to do these sort of things.

Strangely my 1991 Rover 416gti had the technology, but later ones it was deleted from.

As did my '83 maestro, montegos even had illuminated stalks.

Tis one thing I would like, just got to get a dimmer switch the. Figure out where to tap it into :)

Surely just a case of wiring in a rheostat into the lighting circuit?

Would guess so, there is civic dimmers that would fit straight into the blanks on the instrument surround. Can't remember how many wires they have though?? James might and I think it was Skillen that got one from a scrapper.

Yep, can get them for civics.
They fit into the blanks in the speedo surround.
I always take then out of them and I've got one with headlamp wash in mine too.
