View Full Version : Turbo Cost ?

Say for example you had a 1.6 or 1.8 ZS with a knackered engine or gearbox.

How much would you be looking at to turn it into a 2.0l Turbo ? I'm not talking "Carmad" type scenario where it's all custom built - just a basic transplant ending up with as reliable as possible T power running 200 ish ....

Cheers.

Yep - V8s out. Too much outlay then running costs - so was thinking about it.

I'm not sure how much AWM charge for conversions, but you end up with an oe looking installation, you'd need to factor in a refresh of the engine you use, and a steel caged box with a torsen would be worth having.

I recon..... You could convert to a good standard (if you had the ZS you wanted t'engine in) for well under £3000 with a fresh rebuilt engine and gbox etc etc... "Din" on rovertech done exactly what your thinking. Cant remember his final price though. Really depends what toys you wanted and final power expectations etc

To be fair if you got a cheap enough 420gsi and a good engine and gbox (not rebuilt just freshened up)... Maybe more like £1500! Expensive bits will be the exhaust and bits that still need custom parts
