Think the gearbox might be making a bit of noise, only does it until the car is up to temperature and its not a fixed noise, as in I can start the car and sometimes it will whine sometimes it won't or I can be driving and accelerate and again sometimes it will and won't and finally when lifting off (to hear exhaust burble) again sometimes and sometimes not.

I've noticed that mine does from time to time, a bit like a straight cut version, I quite like it! :D Time I rebuilt the spare box I have.

My other thought its a vacuum noise.
I have 2 spare gearboxes. The one in the car, one from the old track car engine and the LSD one in my last car. So I'm all sorted for gearboxes!

A quick fix can be fresh oil.

I am sure I gotta spare 180 box in shed, low milage.
Can't use it myself so it's just sitting there :-)

Something related to having just changed the clutch maybe ?

You did fit a new thrust bearing?

Just guessing on the diff bearings as these are the ones you are messing with when u pull the drive shafts.

Only changed the slave and master, it started making the noise before. Was kind of hoping it would cure it.
