I'm thinking of coating the boot of the zs with some kind of sound proofing to reduce cabin noise, have any of you guys done something similar as I could use advice on what is a good budget way to do this :)

I used cheap dyna mat like stuff off eBay along with sticky backed closed cell foam.

I added it all over the boot. The arches made the biggest difference.
I also added carpet underlay to the backs of the liners.
Made a difference to my ears!

Also make sure you deaden the saloon "parcel shelf" that way you aid to decouple the rear from the cabin.

I just swapped the boot of an early mk1, lots insulation in them.
