What did you do?

Smokey

Nothing! (this time) The clips supporting the bumper decided to release it at 60mph. I now have a 10" split from the corner down!

That looks nasty, will keep a look out for you mate
Sent a link to one on the Bay but don't think they deliver- no harm in asking though.

Smokey

Is the plastic bracket in the driver side rear wheel arch broken as well, that makes the whole thing go floppy.

Smokey

Now that you mention it, yes! Kat broke that when she reversed in to the neighbours car! Would that cause it to pop out of the clips though?

I have a bag load of the metal s-clips here, I can post you over a few if you need them.

If the bracket is broken it may increase the chances of the bumper pulling out of the clips, I only found mine had broken when I was washing the car and noticed the bumper seemed to be floppier than normal, Sheddist made new brackets from aluminium bar which work a treat and are really easy to make and fit, the link for them is on xpf I think.

Cheers Pete, sadly too it the too late as will need a new bumper! Will ensure that its bracketed and fresh clips are attached.

Yeah, I was thinking more for the new bumper, I think yours is probably beyond saving, but if you can find a body shop that does plastic welding it may be possible to fix it.

Another option because you have duplex is mud flaps. They secure similiarly to the brackets that hold the bumper on.

In ebay as rally flaps

Yeah, all options for sure. My real problem. Is sourcing a replacement bumper at the moment.

Even Facebook is proving useless for sourcing one! Damn rare bumpers!

That's the issue. I don't want to have to pay £100s to respray a bumper!

Buy another black car Nick the bumper ,break the rest or strip for another track car.simples.

Smokey

Have looked at that as a viable option Grimmy but not spending a grand or more for a bumper lol

Mk2 rear bumpers seem to be a nightmare to find, I looked for ages, and I didn't mind what colour it was, they just never seemed to come up.

Get one in any colour as Pete says and do the Clio rear diffuser mod then get it sprayed.

Then suddenly it's costing me £300-400 which is a quarter of the car value. That has to be weighed up. When a match comes up, it should cost me circa £100
