Gina, my middle daughter now works in the autotrade as an accounts manager for a bodyshop. She books in the cars for assessment and they carry out work for some big insurance companies. Last night she told me they had a mk2 180 in for assessment. Broadside into a lamp post. Bumper, wing and door damaged, not a lot she said but enough to write it off but I get the impression it may have been a monogram paint job. Apparently the lad wasn't bothered, was 21 and is looking forward to buying an RS Focus with the monies. Now it's off to salvage. Shame.

Noooooooooooo :(
21 year old loses control of 170bhp car, wants to get the ~£1500 from writing it off and buy a 200bhp+ Focus RS.
Jesus. Were we this stupid?

I apologise for my deluded age group, so many are obsessed with Focuses or German tin cans.
Long live the mk2 Zs a future classic to atleast me if no one else.

Not sure if I can legally or Gina would have stepped in for me. :sad:
A case of the insurance company now own it and doing as defined by the law on category write-offs and the process that follows.

Curious to know what the colour was. If your daughter can get the VIN she can run it through this;

Insurance company may have wrote it off but if it's a cat c or d it'll be going forsale somewhere.
