Hi all,
looking at purchasing a 180 which will have limited mileage use.
I have 11 years NCB but I'm using that on my MG3 through Tesco insurance. What is the best way about insuring a second car as I believe I can't insure 2 cars on one policy?

I'd have a look at a specialist like Peter Best. I've never used them but others speak highly. They also acknowledge and cater for mods, which I think will be important if I'm right that you're looking at the xpg zs.

When had a spare car, the red Zs, my insurer just matched my bonus on it realising that I could only drive one at a time! Won't hurt to ask.

Thanks Dan, I'll be phoning PB tomorrow and also my insurer just to see if there is anything they can do.
Been after a 180 since I got my 120 back in 2006, so it's long overdue!

As mentioned Pete Best offer modern classic policies with 3k and 5k limits and don't take or use ncb. The mods are covered and with photographs will agree a value that reflects their worth. My mk1 was around £140, the mk2 was close to £120.

Join the MG Car Club then go through Peter Best. I know people that have got policies for around £150.

As Lukeus 101 says, join the MGCC as Peter Best then give you a discount, I dont know if its the same for the MGOC.

I have my ZS and TF insured with Peter Best, only thing is they do not give a NCD so I'm not sure how it works if you want to leave and go to another insurance company later.

I found Peter Best more expensive with my 180 (and my MGF) verses main stream insurers. I pay £176 for fully comp 7k miles with 9 years ncb through Privilege. Some companies can mirror your existing ncb, some won't.

Thanks everyone. Not sure PB are willing to insure it as I haven't heard back. I use my full NCB on my other car but guess I could switch over.
I'll try an fee more tonight.

Peter Best don't bother with NCB :)

The advantages of being an old git. Had renewal through from General Accident for the Scooby. Around £283 Full Comp 7yrs NCD on this policy.

Did an annual search SAGA £154 !!!! Happy motoring!

But I'd pay more just to be younger.

Well i'm 31 so quite happy with £300. I pay £250 on my MG3 with 12 years NCB.
Still think I can get it a bit cheaper, certainly if I join the MGCC.

Is there an age restriction with Peter Best ?

I know many specialist insurance companies have a minimum age restriction of 25 and me being 24 rules me out entirely.

Think It might be 25 Jay... :(

Think I'll go PB. Tried quite a few and all in the £800-£1200 bracket.
Thanks for your help chaps.
PB also told me I'd get around 15% discount for joining a car club, so MGCC or MGOC?
