Well I got it, 47k, full service history, loads of receipts. Needs a little tlc. But drives really well. Had a massive smile driving home, missed having one. :D

I've actually just sold the Escort, be sad to see it go. But just don't get to drive it. And needs the body work sorting. But if I pay out for body work, I wouldn't want to drive it anywhere. I've had my fun with it for the last 2 years. :)

Started cleaning at 08:30. Seats cleaned, hovered and leather treated (front seats are still damp). Outside washed, polished and sealed. Windows cleaned inside and out. Engine had a quick wipe down. And pollen filter changed. New tyres being fitted tomorrow. :D

Already ordered new front, rear and flag badges. Also MG carpet mats.
Centre blade on rear spoiler and bottom middle of front bumper are getting carbon wrapped.
Need to sort binding rear brake now, and new tyres being fitted tomorrow.
One weekend, it will go up on the ramps and be cleaned up underneath.

Got new tyres fitted yesterday, Zenises Z-tyres B fuel and B wet. Had the same tyres on my ST170 and perform really well in both wet and dry. :)
Also replaced oil and filter. Removed resonator box and fed cold air feed from air box to back of headlight. Picks up loads better, sounds better too. :)

P.Cheers mate, don't worry about that......you can't of seen my other threads.....I don't do halfords bling. Nice tidy, and OE looking. That's why I opted for that dark graphite Grey. And a silver alloy cap. :)

Cover re-fitted, new plates on, new flag badges and Bosch aero wiper blades......engine cover just needs a flat, polish and seal. And some of the black metal brackets need painting. Would like a nice plain black battery cover too. :)

Centre cap badges replaced, oil cap on, and been to have the exhaust measured up. Should be getting done end of next week. :D
The exhaust at the moment has 2 1/4" mid section but the Power flow back box is 2" so getting the centre silencer removed then the same size rear but 2 1/4" with 3" slash cut tailpipe. Cheers Dan, I'm not either lol......I like it how it is, but wanted to do a few things, as it's going to be a show car too. Parked next to the Freelander at shows. But don't really want to put graphics on now lol.......need some really subtle graphics. :)

Modified ones are 10 a penny.Yeah, I agree.......only thing that might get changed are the alloys, but only for modified car shows. Wasn't to fussed on any carbon wrap as it can be removed. Any mods will be subtle and easily changed back to standard. :)

Light bulbs all replaced, as most were quite tarnished and dim. Philips Extreme headlights/sidelights kit. LED filament rear tail light bulbs. LED interior bulbs. Really need to borrow a carpet cleaner, so I can clean those front seats properly. :)
Ordered new disc's and pads all round, as where it had been stood for a long time before I brought it. Disc's are really pitted.
Hopefully get a Sunday soon to get it on the ramp and start cleaning up underneath.

Custom exhaust all done. Edit - That a set of straights in the photo ? - if so - get them rattle canned black and stick them on for winter. Love Mk1 straights on a Mk2 for some reason ....

Not sureabout the shield - fact that it's silver highlights the fact that the exhaust is black - if you know what I mean. If it was all black it might just look a bit bland ....

All brake disc's and pads changed today. Replaced all wheel nuts too. :)
Had to re-thread one of the studs, as had been previously chewed up on the end.

I meant the Freelander to be honest, many tuners don't bother with normally aspirated cars with Reidy being the only one who seems to know what he's doing with our V6s.

Runs really well too.......i'm hoping I can do a before and after dyno, will have to speak to my mate about using his. See what results I get on the ZS. I know it won't be a big difference, that's why I never bothered doing it straight away. :)

Personally I have been using the blue version for years, gives a whiter light.
And they do light up further than standard.

Cleaned out the throttle body this morning, as there was some oil in there.
Also ordered all the bits I need for my baffled catch tank set up. :)

Got a new thermostat to fit, and whilst I'm there I'm going to replace the spark plugs. :)
Also got a better intake hose to fit, rather than the alloy one. :)

Then the 90 degree pipe wasn't right, didn't line up at all. (kit was in the car when I brought it). Now ordered a genuine kit from Dmgrs. So currently sat on the drive with rags shoved in hoses and engine, till new kit arrives. Did get all the spark plugs changed though. Looked OE. Can't do the cold air feed, as I can't move the car to gain access.

Cheers Dan, yeah I did......leather quality was a lot better on the RS wheel. But think this one has come out better. Just needs a coat of sealant in a few days time. :)

Few jobs done today, got a Meguires headlight restoration kit.
Wasn't happy with the colour of my engine cover, also painted spare fuse box cover gloss black. So prepped and painted in BMW sparkling graphite Grey. Will get fitted in a few days when hardened and flat/polish.
Then painted a few brackets and ECU cover. Along with front grills.
Spare engine cover/fuse box cover is on for now.
ITG Maxogen should be here tomorrow, so that will be fitted. R45 steering wheel will be fitted later in the week once sealed.
Will get front bumper resprayed at some point, once I get a few quotes. :)

Well what I thought was lacquer peel on the front lower part of the front bumper. Was actually a crap re-paint. Only took an hour of wet sanding to take it all off using 2000 grit wet and dry.
Then blew in the bits that the crap paint was hiding. And then a few coats of lacquer.
It's not perfect, but loads better. And still needs blending in. Went to a local dyno day today, not the figures I was excepting......but think the main cat may be on the way out. As it didn't spell too good lol.......no eml, but checked codes when I got home. And have one for post cat sensor, so think cat might be partially collapsed.........and the CV boot clip decided to break, so got covered in grease putting that back on lol

Graph, it says 171bhp & 221nm torque at the bottom. VIS motors both working fine. Has ITG maxogen & cat back exhaust. Well serviced, and running on BP ultimate since I brought it.

Standard whennew was only 174 so that's not a disaster. However I don't see much of a kick at 3k and none at 4.5 so wonder if your VIS are 100%?
It's only done 48k miles, good quality oil, not long done spark plugs and coil packs.........think the graph is pretty poor. On the road there is a definite kick at 3 & 4.5k. And watching on screen you could see it.

Vis motors are definately working, can feel the change at 3k & 4.5K......think my mate has a vis tester. So i'll double check. :)

To be honest I think it may well be the rolling road. My old 180 ran higher bhp on different a different rolling road. With a panel filter and exhaust. But this one feels faster on the road. And VIS motors definately kick in. :)

I went down to Portsmouth area a while back in a mk1 180 that I thought was all good. Mine made about 160. Another guy there made 190 with some breathing mods. Whatever the figures, as they had both been tested on the same machine, it was clear that his was more powerful so I checked my motors and the balance was not working properly - stuck open I think.... Replaced it and the car felt soooo much better. Anyway - if you're happy with it, fine, but I think that with a figure like that, and such a flat line, something is wrong and you could be looking at an even better car with some investigation into the motors.

No other ZS 180's there, but other cars were running lower than they had run on other dyno's.
Went for a blast last night. Hard to get the power down, as there was always another car on the road. But there is a very noticeable kick at 3k rpm......but at 4.5k it does kick in but not as noticeable as 3k......it still feels quicker at lower end than my old ZS 180.........if the VIS at 4.5k wasn't kicking in properly then that explain low bhp.
Which one is that though? Don't want to order the wrong one lol

If you're happy with it as is - don't panic about it and wait to test them. I don't think there would be a fault code for it as it's not gonna impact on if the car drives or not. It won't hurt it if they are not working, indeed a guy at the RR I mentioned who owned the garage had removed the vis motors entirely but had modified the inlet maniforld so that the power/balance bits were open constantly I think and got 170ish IIRC - Stamford and Pete were there too ....

Looking at your base dyno chart, your WHP is about the same as mine. So that leads me to believe that the dyno I went on was out.......also no afr readings on mine. Which doesn't help. Think I need to go to a more accurate dyno before looking into anything else........Mine has a ITG maxogen and cat back. So should be slightly over stock. Also my crossover point is 5500rpm, where yours is 5250rpm.
Like I said, it doesn't feel like its lost power.

I remember that day, mines the one which made the 190 😜. As for vis motors feeling a slight kick doesn’t mean they’re working fine. Got another zs when I moved out to Australia, felt good and didn’t feel down on power, felt like there was a kick at the usual rev mark but I have a tester and sure enough both were broken. Got some replacements and it felt much better 👍
This may be going up for sale again. :(
Really want to keep it, but just don't use it. And need a car to promote my business and that I don't mind using all year round. And don't want the ZS parked up all the time. :(
