Used Meguiars quik clay today then finished off by applying the Autoglym Lifeshine kit I got off ebay.
Need to scrub the inside of the wheel arches tomorrow coz the dirt shows up badly in the photos

funny you should say that. When I first got the car I posted photos up and everyone thought that it wasn't firefrost. The paint code in the door shut says firefrost but the colour does differ from other people's firefrost MG's and some people suggested it was a one-off MG tester colour. I'm still in two minds to be honest as it does look lighter than firefrost

Are you judging the colour on real life or on other photos you have seen.
Different cameras will show the car up in different ways.
Saying that a few weeks ago i saw 2 ignition blue mk2s and they looked completely different colours.
I have also posted up on many occasions regarding 2 cars painted in flip colours that looked completely different.
They were both typhoon but one was typhoon painted from scratch and the other was typhoon painted over trophy blue.
So my thoughts are maybe your car was another colour and was then ordered by someone who wanted a firefrost and resprayed over the top of another colour.
Probably in the late days at MG Rover alot of this went on when it was going under.

Couldn't you pick a different lacquer on the paint (pearlescent etc) ??
My Ignition blue ZR was a completely different shade to my ZS, it was almost purple! I assumed it had a different lacquer...
