I need them off to remove the last of the 'sticky stuff' left behind from the tints where i can't reach down to because of the window seals. :(

I've tried on 3 occasions now and i've given up every time. I get them to move but they just will not come away around the door handle!

I think i have all the screws / fasteners removed... but they are still stuck fast.

MKI ZR was easy as i did it a number of times to try and stop rattles, but the MKII is a real 'pain in the ass'.

Help please....

If you are sure you have removed all the screws.......get your fingers under the bottom of the panel and give it a good hard sharp tug outwards and it will partially pop off. Next you need to get it free from under the tweeter (mirror backing) and then disconnect the electric window switch.

Job done! Putting the panel back can be tricky.......good luck!

Are there any 'in' the door handle? There was in the ZR but i can't see any in the ZS... It's all i can think of that is holding them on.

I could use a hammer, but i'd prefer to be able to put them back on. ;)

there are two screws in the door handle  you should be able to see the head in the hole (oooooerrr missus!)

you also have to remove the handle aswell as the screws if you look behind it there is the silver bar it has a plastic clip holding it in you have push this out of the way with a flat head driver this is what i had to do to get mine off then give a good hard tug from the bottom

Will see if i get a chance to look at it tonight then, but i doubt it. Most likely to be tomorrow evening.

The other tint has to come off too. :(

Got the door card off tonight... but i ended up breaking a little plastic clip on the door handle that holds the rod connected to the lock!

Took as long to get the card off and back on again as it did to clean the tint glue off!

Will have to do a 'How To' as they are a right pain in the arse to remove.

with regards to the plastic clip i seem to remember to push it over the rod with a flat screw driver before you try and move the door catch opener bit...(you know what i mean)

i did break the clip on my mk1 and ended up bending the end of the rod over as it kept poping off and you couldnt get out of the car from the inside...

I do now... :)

I just bent mine so that it has pressure downwards all the time to keep it in the hole. Might see if it's possible to get a clip in somehow; 'just in case'.
