I have decided to sell my straights.

THey are 4 years old, and sadly have some kerbing:nugget:, but could refurb up lovely.

the front 2 have brand new tyres (Achilles ATR sport) and the rear have 2-3mm left on and have nangkang tyres on.

I will put them on ebay too, but would rather a friend off here has them.

Ebay item number 160273399718
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160273399718&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2F search.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37.l1313%26sa title%3D160273399718%26fvi%3D1

stick them on in winter like I do, the KEI's weren't built for the amount of salt used over here!

thanks for the replies guys, I'd like to think someone on here gets a bargain.

I priced up a set of Avon ZZ3 tyres for mine, with Bob, the owner of "wheel mania" in Brum. He told me i'd be looking at about 320 for a set of 4, but for 350 I could have 4 on brand new OZ rims, I couldn't really afford it so stuck em on my plastic.

I figured that if I get a quick sale, I'd be paying off my credit card before actually feeling the payment go out.

I'll be happy to not have to worry aout them in the garage whilst I am out.

Will be interested in seeing your new wheels on the car as I fancy changing mine too. Think I'll be keeping it for a bit as no-one's interested in it.

I'd like to think that someone who is a genuine MG owner ends up with a deal, rather than some one just punting them on for a few quids profit.

We'll see, many people tightening their belts at the minute so They may not go first time.

I try my hardest to avoid going on there, a few on here will recall why.

I'll load a pic of the new rims now.

Hmmm ..... are they 17"'s .... they look small to me ?

Is that a sticker on the boot ?

papa_lazaroo
17-08-08, 07:36 PM
They most definately are 17", other wise the air in the 215 45 17's would fall out ;)

Yes it is a sticker on the back. One of the ones off here.

I still have the original one, but I prefer this instead.

Hmmm .... I'm not sure to be honest. If you're happy then great.

If it's the tyres you were after, how about going down to a tyre shop, giving them a tenner to swap the tyres over to your standard alloys, then selling the new rims ?

to be honest, it does 900 miles a week, the wheels are spinning more than they are stationary these days.

I always felt that the MK2 wheels were a cost down on the MK1's, and Rover wnated to save time on assembly at longbridge, the coating quality on the mk2 rims is now as good as the spec BMW rolled out when they were there.

But it's each tio their own I suppose

Yeh each to theyre own

IMHO the mk1 rims are not as good looking as the mk2 but i agree on the coating side of things my mk2s are bubbling a little here and theyre

I think that if I were to keep the MK2's (and its possible if they don't sell)

I'd have a slightly darker coating than standard done at the refurber's

Will be nice to see them on your car Matt, having done so many nice little things to yours, it'll set it off a treat.

So, have I convinced you to look for the 24cm LED lights?
