Less than that as you need to consider the tax for the replacement. I looked at this issue when all the tax thing came out. Even a 2.0L petrol mondeo's gonna be £200+. Is the 180ZS worth the extra over a 12 month period ? I'd say yes easy. So only 16ish quid extra a month.

Seeing this, I've lost so much money buying my ZS (paid a hell of a lot more than thats going for). But I dont care! I plan on keeping this car for a nice while unless my circumstances change drastically (ie. if I have to travel big miles for college/uni at some point). Even then though, I would try and keep this car because its worth every penny I paid, even if prices have now dropped, theyre still worth more.

Maybe one day the 180 will become a classic and might go back up in value - I hope! Or maybe if MG come back gradually, that might restore some value too...?

The car is well below others that are for sale IMHO. Even the XPG one advertised on here at £4K is low as he wants a quick sale. Maybe this is the same, just someone wanting a quick sale too.

There are others ...Mk1's even which are on 53 or 04 plates going for up to £4,500 so with all cars, there will always be exceptions. There's mention of a scratch too .... maybe it's a bigee ?

I paid £4500 for a 54 plate 110 last year. I feel bumped..

Yea i agree, One sold on ebay last week for £6500. I'd do a reg check on that one personally it might be cheap for a reason. Could be on Cat D or C

They will be. Only probs is they'll go through the "old banger" stage first when they come up to about 10-15years old.

I see the new MG's just as the 80's ones personally.

MG ZR = MG Metro
MG ZS = MG Maestro
MG ZT = MG Montego

80's MG's are rocketing up now. I remember around 5 years ago they were £50 cars. My mate suncle bought a nowhere near mint but tidy MG Maestro for £50 from an auction about 6-7 years ago. You wouldn't even get a rotton one for double that now.

surely that zs is worth a hell of a lot more than that, tax hike or not!
