Cant believe how little of it is left, it doesnt look like it is ready to make cars yet ! I parked outside the front gate (in photo below) and the other side was a red mk1 fire service ZT.

It is a sorry state, parked there myself before now. Just across the road is where my daughter's boyfriend lives, Lickey Road. He said that sign is a tough one ;)

Looks different to any of the other pics i've seen of it... In a way i like these ones better though as they are obviously ones of the older part.

Is anyone allowed to walk around that place then? are they going to reuse it for when China bring over the MG TF I take it?

No mate i didnt take the pics they are off austin-rover online.

Place is already in use. The new TF's will be in showroom this month.
They basically shipped over from china in bits then assembled over here. 500 of the orange LE500's will be made then its back to the standard 135 TF for now. As said the new MG saloon to replace the ZS will be on sale over here in around 2010 based on the Roewo 550

Im not sure if the new MG will look the same as that though. All i know is it will be based on the same platform.

The annoying thing is that roewo 550 was so close to being released by MG-R back in 2005 as the replacmeant for the 45/ZS. It would of been way ahead of other companies back then and i think it would of sold really well. All the chinese have done is tweaked it abit. It was designed In Lemington Spa for MG-R and was due to go on sale early 06.

I know, its so annoying that MG Rover wasnt given just one more chance to produce that car before all of our british owned and run company was as good as handed to china.... I still take an interest in china mg but it just isnt the same anymore.

I blame the group of leeches (aka 'the phoenix 4') for the demise / hastened demise of MG-R. How could they justify taking a salary of more than a BMW CEO and they were managing an ailing one?
