View Full Version : Another De-badging question!
Hi all
Took the rear MG badge off the car yesterday, using the hair dryer and card technique and it worked really well, but there is still bit of gluey residue on the back is there anything that I can use (safely) to get this last bit off? Actually looks worse at the moment as you can see that there was clearly a badge there!
Cheers all

Scratch X is less aggressive than T-Cut. White spirit should be okay.

why take the badge off in the first place???
Panel Wipe?
I didn't like the look of the MASSIVE badge on the back, and, I bought some of those XPower stickers which made it look even worse, but when taking the sticker off it peeled some of the badge so I thought f£ck it! I like the de-badged look anyway
Currently it still has the ZS badges on the back, think I might keep those

Halfords surface cleaner works well - intended for cleaning repaired areas prior to spraying with aerosol.

any of the above should be fine, except the T-Cut!
As said Meguiars Scratch X is the best stuff for the job once the sticky residue is removed
Nice one thanks all, definately prefer it without the badge, not sure whether to remove the ZS as well and get just an XPower one for the back... hmmm
Anyone want to pop up pics of their rears please do! (CARS!)

i wouldnt like to use any sort of solvent on my paintwork e.g. Panal Wipe
the Zs paint is soft enough as it is, im sure some panal wipe would have no trouble stripping it off
Id take the Safe Route and use Tar Remover may take 10-15 mins to remove all the stuff but it leaves the paintwork like new.
On my First car i used it all over the car like a polish my car was as smooth as a babys bottom for ages
