View Full Version : Insurance Time
Its almost that time of year!!
Any recommendations of cheap companies?
Currently with Elephant, best prices so far are elephant who want £380 off me for fully comp, £150 excess or Direct Line want £355.95 but that is unprotected no claims....
26yr old, 5 yrs no claims no accidents or convictions in last 5 years....
Its a 2006 180 by the way :mama:
Try bell.co.uk they are the same company as admiral they were about £150 cheaper than my best quote also this year more than were excellent.
A guy in work told me to try the post office, they saved him about £250 but when i tried them they quoted me over £2000 it seems to vary hugely from person to person no matter where you go.
One thing that i noticed though was i always got a cheaper price going to the companies direct rather than those comparison websites!

Those are very good prices you have there all things considered. Do you have any mods?
I'm with Admiral and have a multi-car policy, ZS comes out at just over £300 fully comp. but then I am 'mature' ;)
Car is totally standard
I hate comparison websites, will try bell and post office, thanks

WTF??
I'm 26yr old with 7 years no claims, no accidents and a 3 points for a CU80 (driving whilst on mobile phone - even though car was parked and handbrake on in a carpark!)
Can I get my insurance below £580?? I don't think so! I don't protect my no claims discount either...
Got multi car with More Than (including Suki Vitara)........£600 full comp with policy cover..covers both vehicles
45yrs (younger than Stamford!!!!!) with full no claims & 3 points for speeding.........in the Zed on the A1, doing a test flight for NASA!!!!!!!!!!! :noexpression:

I must live in a nicer area! Not in Gosport are you!? :tease:
EDITED to add, if I leave excess at £350 then the Elephant cost is £321!

No definetly not Gosport!! Nah I'm in the posh part of... errr West Leigh
Its *almost* Rolands Castle!!!
Never heard of Burgess hill being described as nice though... :p
Burgess Hill must be a crime free area. I am 6 years older and years and years of no claim discount and no conviction ever and I am paying over £500 for my insurance.

I'm about the same... only difference is that i have 5 (or is it 4) years NCB and an SP30, and my insurance is about £800.
I wonder if its because Dvid has limited mialage or something?? I know there are lots of factors... but I tried to see what it would do to my insurance to drop to 1000 miles a year and garaged... no difference to premium!
I was going to sorn it and sort things out on it slowtime whilst using the landrover (or the 120) as a commuter!

Forgot to mention that I am with LV for my insurance.

Yeah the 120 is quite cheap for me too at £350 (using all 7 yrs NCD)... BUT my car (and I think dvid's) is a 180...
Strangely enough the cost difference between the 120 and 180 is MORE than the cost of the Landrover insurance... :D:D (I pay less than £200 a year for the landrover's insurance and thats fully comp, unlimited mileage with 1 years NCD)

try lancaster they gave me a good quote
Landrover insured through Lancaster... :D:D But not competitive with the ZS's...
Adrian Flux, A-Plan, Sky Insurance.
All good companies :)
Well I have just renewed, with Elephant... £297.65... Well pleased
Mileage up to 7,000, which is more than enough for me
6yrs no claims
26, no points or crashes
business class 2 (wife needs it and she is additional driver)
£150 Excess
Protected no claims
Elephant are excellent!

I'm with them just now with the ZS and they are by far the cheapest for me too, but I'll be moving to Adrian Flux come renewal time.
I just got the Landrover insured with them and they are honestly the best insurance company I've ever delt with. Adding mods is a doddle and most don't make any difference to the premium. Best thing over Elephant is that mods are like for like replacement.
A tad more expensive for the base price, but IMO well worth it
UK call centres too, Elephant's Indian call centre has infuriated me for the last time!
Lol damn, Im paying £1600 for the 180! I only have 1yr NCB at 21 though...
Direct Line have been the cheapest for me. The reason I went with them is the 0.0% added when paying monthly.
Elephant have always been cheapest for me for all my cars, never had much luck with Adrian Flux but different people seem to have different results with these companies!
