We went to Castle Coombe today, they had Supercar Saturday, charity event for the Stroke Association. You pay £30 or £50 for a supercar to do 6 laps, I wanted a go in the Dreadnought but Paul said he had just done in the bottom end of the engine!! Have to wait for next year. Not many people there and you could have had ago in whatever took your fancy, if you had the cash.
Some of the cars you can pay for

Was there a few clubs there?

I think so, I said to the guy on the gate "is this the MGCC event" and he said its not just MGCC, open to all, but the only club we saw was MGCC, had special parking, the whole thing was very quite, I thought you would have to fight to get a ride but I reckon you could have gone out in any of the cars.

Race cars - Radical SR3, MGZT520, MGZS, Honda Civic Lotus Elan, Chaterham, Westfield, Metro Turbo, MGF Cup.

Supercars - Jag E Type, Ferrari 250 GTO, & 430, AC Corbra, Ultimate Spyder, Evo X, Porsche 911 TVR Chimera.

and as the race card said "Plus many more", most of the cars were there and out on the circuit.:thumbsup:

This was the 14th all car run, worth a visit if you want to have a trip round the circuit, they were all going for it.

Great meet today with in excess of 30 Zeds turning up. Thanks to everyone for coming along and hope you enjoyed your track outings and that you have recovered from the freezing wind! Pics and video to follow...

You can just see the lights that looked a bit like Kits in the V8 grill under the Mustang!! Must admit it was a bit different.:laugh:

I think we had the best weather yesterday.

It was cold and very windy (I had to catch the MGCC gazebo as it came lose and nearly hit the cars!) with a few spots of rain but other than that it was OK! Your car looked nice BTW, we had a walk down to look at it as you don't see many MK2's in trophy yellow.

If it wasnt for all those stick-on badges (the mustang, ZTT400 etc), that would look quite nice. Very Audi.

Fantastic day, get up close to some real nice cars, I'll put it in the diary for next year. Bargain for going 6 laps flat out and not having to worry about breaking anything or replacing tyres etc. Pity we didnt have a sub section for "themgzs.co" crowd in the MGCC section.:happy2::happy2:

I should have got up earlier, by the time we got there the bottom end of the engine had let go and that was the end of the runs, oh well always next year.
Paul said it was the first time the engine had let him down.
Colour was amazing and the zt looked even better in the flesh.:clap:
I think the blue/violet colour looks good on the zs

Isn't that 'Bittersweet'?

I think the blue/violet colour looks good on the zs

..and that sounds like 'Typhoon'

It is bitter sweet and I think the other one is twilight which is similar to typhoon, EMS' ZS is twilight IIRC.

Apparently the Rover V8 is actually a ZT 260 with a Rover V8 bumper (hence why I thought it was a Rover), I love the bumper just not the badges.

Would like to see some more pics of this car.
Shame you can still see the Rover mouldings on the grille, makes the MG badge look like an after thought.
Good effort though!

It was an estate with gold alloys, looked nice except for the badges.
