Vinny,

How much you looking to spend and how much you want for the coupe? would a MK1 with the facelift applied to it make you spend slightly more than a MK1 but less than a MK2? :)

dont worry about the mileage as the 180's go forever (a member on XPF has 200,000+ on his) but i was you i would scout around the other MG forums too as you will probally get one that has all the bits that go wrong with them fixed ie new plenum, cambelts and clutch hydrolics so a saving of over £1000 that you wont have to fork out if you buy from someone else

hey everybody, thanks for the replies. The coupe cost me £1000 around 3 months ago, I have just taxed it again for 6 months, id like to get £900 back if I could. I have just bought 4 standard shocks for it as the front two Im sure are shot so I wil be replacing these, its a nice straight car with no dings and is quick. 1st gear is a little whiney but its just had the cambelt and tensioners done along with the head whilst it was in the garage. Im pretty sure the price is fair as the interior is unmarked black leather with the red piping. Anyways my budget would be maybe £2500/£3500 depending on the coupe to be honest maybe £4000 if the coupe was to sell if that makes sense?, again a mk1 is also not out of the question i just really like the mk2 look. But

lol. Well you get the idea obviously the less I spend the better but its a car id like to keep for a decent period of time and its insulting how little these fetch

how cheap are the mk1s , jesus. madness im sure. I have nothing against the mk1s tbh I just like the kit on the mk2 , I know you can add the kit, if you can find it.

The more I think the more I want lol. I will get some pics up of the rover coupe, and im sure the price is negotiable as I guess £700-800 in my pocket from the coupe is better than the car just sitting here

I'd offer mine but it needs paintwork doing really. Between that the recent major service and cost of paintwork...I may as well buy another motor!

I have my mk1 for sale, silver, currently touching 46k miles, FSH, major service was done at 39k so i guess it would be due up for a normal service soonish ?

The only negative i can find on the car myself (inspections of course welcome anytime) is a kerbing mark about an inch long on the NS front wheel, but ive been told by people with more knowledge than me that its an easy solve, that woul be for you to judge.

Anyways, i would be happy with 3k for it, i paid 5k in July but as everyone is aware, the market has taken a tumble and these go for stupidly small amounts now, ill even get it valeted for whoever has it, as it is christmas afterall :P

Have a look around on Pistonheads dude, if you see one you like chuck it on here and we'll check to see if we can see anything blatantly obvious with it - hell. If it's close to a member I'd put money on saying they would go and take a look at it with you :)

Mines still going if you fancy a look, pretty sure there are some members here near me who wouldnt mind looking on your behalf if you asked nicely :)
