The Osram will give more light +90%
The Philips will give a whiter light, but only +30% iirc
I have Philips Crystal vision in mine, but they are a higher Kelvin rated bulbs & not for UK use lol
no issue with them personaly

I'm looking at getting new bulbs also.

Are the bulbs a direct replacement or have you had a HID conversion kit fitted?

The ones in the links are OE replacements

I must sound like a real dumbass but what is the HID conversion kit for and is it worth me paying £80 for one?

As far as i know you can't fit a hid kit to a mk1 something to do with not enough room in the headlight for it i maybe wrong tho, I am sure Shroonie will be along to correct me

I fitted HID's to my Mk1 recently, all fitted fine using H7R bulbs, wasnt very impressed with the light to be honest, does look good though but think if i were doing it again id just upgrade the bulbs!

I agree with the above, I took my HIDs out and fitted Phillips Power Xtreme which are brilliant.

I ordered my set today to be fitted on Boxing day. :) I'll be leaving mine in such a position so that the normal ones can go back in for MOT time. ;)

I have Philips Xtreme all on 4 of my lights. They are that good on mine that I hardly have to use the main beam.
