V29 DJC ?

It's a 2004 Mk 1 180 Hatch in a dark blue.

It's located in Gwent and has 45K recorded miles.

Reason I ask is that it has no history ...... It's a cheap car ... but without any history ..... what do we think ?

Sorry mate ... didn't make it clear. I'd do an HPI, but when I mention history I meant servicing. I'm no mechanic.

If I bought it, and gave it to a mate for a good servicing ... does the fact that it had a pdi and an inspection etc 5 years ago really matter ?

A personallised reg would suggest it was cared for but I would wonder about the lack of history, did the current owner loose it whan they changed the speedo?

Where did you see it advertised?

If it's that good is it worth the 200 mile round trip to have a look?

It's on ebay and up for £2300ish. My Mrs found it because she knows how miserable I am punting around in the Scenic but the strange thing is ... and maybe it's fate .... DJC are my initials !!!

I sent the guy an email, and he tells me that he took it in px but it's too fast. Rubbish I reckon. He also says that some of the interior plastics need attention, and that there is a switch on the armrest which operates the sound system in the boot ! I'm thinking boy racer ... and maybe not that much attention to the servicing ....

Not dis-heartened mate ... excited that's all. The plate got me really.

Now the Mrs is on-board, and my father - in -law is gonna sort out the cash issue until the Scenic goes, I'll get something sorted sooner. Going to look at a Mk2 the same as my old one tomorrow. Fingers X'd.

Just looked at the ad -
1) exhaust is wonky
2)area looks okay, nice houses but is he a trader?
3)poor quaility pictures don't sell a car
4) 0 feed back, what happened to his old account?

I wouldn't bid without veiwing, it may be a bargin, worth a look for someone local.

Not necessarily some times people use private plates to hide a cars past.:sly:

You should try and find out its previous plate.
