getting a sticky throttle on the 180, only when cold and stops after about 3 mins when there is a bit of heat in the engine. when driving at 30 mph about 1.5-2k depending on what gear your in the revs stay there when you put the clutch in. will grease the bit in the engine tomorrow but any other ideas?? all else is fine drives fine and accelerates fine. thanks in advance guys :smile1:

Make sure the throttle cable is routed correctly over the top of the engine and secure in it's clips. Just give it a bit of a twist a shake to loosen the inner cable a bit if you like. Also check on the underside of the throttle body and make sure the fuel line that passes under and behind the body is in it's clip and not popped out.:smile1:

Mine stuck open, having floored it off the slip road onto the motorway (which was empty) I was in 4th gear, changed to 5th and the revs shot up which scared me as I thought the engine was going to blow, once into 5th gear the car kept on accelerating. The throttle stayed down to the floor though and I was up 100mph, it happened so quickly, I managed to blip the accelerator, which came back up. It was lucky that it was at night and the motorway was reasonably empty. Changed trousers and cleaned the seat when I got home.
I haven`t looked at it yet but haven`t floored it since, maybe the cable is dirty or kinked.
What is an ICV?

I had this sticking revs problem usually happens noticably during gear changing. I cleaned the IACV using some carb cleaners and all is well since. Just becareful with the gasket when you are removing the valve from the throttle body. The gasket would probably be stuck down by now and may need to prise it away with a blade or similar.

the I.C.V may be covered in oil before you put the catch tank in so it's always worth a look
