Now then all!

How powerfull can i make my ZS 180 for £1000.00

Its completley standard 2002 hatchback.

At the moment im going for a pipercross viper induction kit, sports cat (with better cat back section), and then have it chipped and remapped.

Any thoughts?

cheers.

You should make 190bhp with all the simple mods.....some 'good' cars can make the almost 200bhp.......

after that you need to dig very deeply to get more power..........you'd be spending more like £1000 for that mod alone including setting up and rolling road runs etc......

Unfortunately the KV6 isn't quite like some other manufacturers V6 engines where chipping and simple mods make a lot more power and torque for little money.

whats the difference between chipping and remapping. i thought a remap was usually only used after cams have been fitted to sort the fueling and things out

For a grand I would go for a quality induction kit, manifolds, sports cat, cat back exhaust and that would be probably just over but well worth it :D The standard ecu is more than capable of learning these mods and do not bother with chipping until you go for 285 cams and then it'll need a custom ecu. The standard ecu is good for 270 cams btw.

IMHO the chip & remap is a waste of money, as is fitting cams. Experience of others show that these provided little, if any, benefit.

For your £1000 I would fit a BMC CDA, Janspeed manifold and sports cat. This should get you close to 200BHP, possibly 210BHP if you're lucky. Remember, your ZS "180" starts off at 175 BHP (177PS) plus or minus around 10%.

i wouldnt have you would make any where near 210bhp with these mods.

Thats right. Even with cams you would struggle to get to 210. 204-5 seems to be the norm with a cammed car (270 cams anyway).

1st i would check if your vis valves and manifolds working correctly before spending any £££ on any performance parts. They can loose you loads of power.

How do i know the Vis/manifold are knakered??? Is it that awful rattling noise??

a good way is to get it on a rolling road. i think they are as low as 140bhp when the vis motors are playing. also you wont get the kick of power at 3000 rpm like you get
