Hi guys,
Just interested in your opinions on this blue MK2 http://tinyurl.com/bhynrt
It's been for sale for a while, and it's the colour I want and the spec I want, but it seems overpriced to me - what do you reckon?

I'm quite prepared to pay top dollar for the right car, but I can't afford to get silly about it...

Cheers
Andy

I paid £5000 for mine, same spec with blue alcantara and only 19k miles and that was 15 months ago!

have a look at this one...

BLACK Mk2 ZS 180 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2004-54-MG-MGF-ZS-2-5-180-BLACK_W0QQitemZ120376976839QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAuto mobiles_UK?hash=item120376976839&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A7%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318)

Too expensive. £4-4500 tops. IMHO.

But then .... how much for the right colour and spec as you said. Buy one of the others and it's not quite what you want, you may not settle with it.

The question is, how much do YOU think it's worth to get the right one ?

As said, what it's worth and what you are prepared to pay for the right one is immaterial. I personally would not pay £6k for an 05 plate with 44k on it, I would wait until the right one came up with less miles on it and for a much better price, they are out there. Saying that it is your choice and what you are prepared to pay regardless.

Too expensive.

You can get a really good ZS now for 3.5k

I would not pay above this price.

Good luck..

very over priced

As a guide mine was exactly the same with half the miles and I sold for £3k and a bit for a quick sale

that one won't be worth more than the same these days

Think 5 grand are quite pricey...
if you have the time you can pick one up under 4 grand.
the others already have posted some...but this one seems like a real bargain:

as ross said I paid £3k for a 2005 car , identical to that really with 28k on clock with pretty much everything on it including the xpower twin stainless exhaust, the parking sensors, traffic master clock, rear electric windows blah blah!

I think its just all about spotting the market and getting one if theres a bargain.
those on the market for 5k are quite pricey, if you can wait im sure you can pick one up for about 3k as vinny1979 did and as i hope i can do in spring...

As the others have said... It's over-priced.

Mine was 30k on the clock and cost me just under £5k (2 years ago).

I didn't notice if it was at a garage or private sale but you MAY be able to haggle them down some.

Thanks guys, that was pretty much what I thought. I'm quite happy with a black car as well, and would settle for XPG or BRG but not as keen on the silver.

As I said, I don't mind paying a bit more for a car that's spot on, but there is a limit, and realistically we can't afford anything over 5k.

Seen yours as well Kev, very tempted though I'm not so keen on the boot install - I'm quite partial to a good sounds system, but I need the boot space - I'm meant to be buying a 'sensible' car ;)

That is a great looking car, with the suede interior too. Worth a punt up to £3K without even seeing it.

Dunno if I'd go that far, if it stays below £3k it'll be worth it.
