I never did it myself but the 180 will go like stink in comparison with the 120.
much more torque, much more power..

more of everything really... including petrol!

I went from a 1.4 ZR to my ZS and it was the best move I ever made. The 180 had more toys, felt more substantial and had ooodles of power on tap

i went from a rover 416, only 9bhp less than the 120 as standard, but it was on a throttle body and induction kit so wouldnt even be that difference. the difference between that and a 180 was amazing. not just acceleration in a straight line but over taking as well, and the way my 180 goes from 70 to 90 in 5th on the motorway is truely superb

now im different i prefered my mk1 120 dunno why i think its because it felt better built

but power wise i wouldnt be able to go back to the 120 just because of that, its like having a rocket inserted up your ass and that v6 noise is immense too you wouldnt regret making the move

I did the same as Ross... I was 'fed up' with the ZR after 18 months, but 2 years in the ZS and i'm still as happy as when i bought it. :)

I went from a mk1 120 to a mk2 180. Having purchased the 120 I cursed myself for not getting the 180 in the first place. 3 years down the line I upgraded to the mk2 180. I'm now glad I didn't buy the 180 in the first place otherwise I wouldn't be now driving a mk2 180 as I feel it is a better looking car than the mk1.

Generally it is definitely more fun in the 180. The first time I heard the KV6 fired up and generally driving it was so much different to the K4. The running cost notably the fuel is more as expected and the tyre wear is much quicker. Till this day I'm glad I have upgraded to the 180.

I went from a 120 to a 180 3 weeks ago and wish i had done it years earlier so much more fun (and fuel lol) but what the hell i knew what i was buying wasn't going to be better on fuel

went from a 1.4 rover 25 to the 180, well worth it, insurance prices suck tho.

my 180 isnt a lot worse on fuel than my 416:no: well 100 miles less out of a tank. lol

people really seam to varey on fuel, people on xpf quote from 200 miles to 300 miles say, well i can get that easy with the supercharged ZS, and then others say 300-400

well between min and max is 200 miles :O which is alot!!!

as for changing for a 180, if you can afford it, and the extra expense go for it, the sound alone is worth it !!!!

depends how you drive it. I've had 300 miles from a mixed tank and well over 400 from motorway cruising

If only I could afford the running costs of a 180...

I let one slip the other day. Every mod you could imagine, 190bhp, immaculate, 04 plate, £2000!

Still, I love the 120 and the power is enough for what I need.
Decent induction and sports cat will soon get the smile back!

I went from a zr 1.4 straight to my zs 180 hatch. The performance difference was brilliant, i also reckon it handles a hell of a lot better aswell!

I went from a 1.8 HGT punto (not a 1.8 ZS i know but same sort of power all be it 7bhp more) to my Mk1 ZS180 and have never looked back!

The noise is immense and will be better when i get the janspeed on it and poss BMC. In the words of that famous advert, JUST DO IT!!!!!!

i went from a 180 to a 120 via a zt 160, mainly coz the 120 has all the looks of the 180 but cheaper to run, although a 2.0l turbo engine could be coming my way soon :shifty:........................whats that in my mirror getting further away.................oh yes a 180 zs :p

LOL, so did I.
I replaced my MKI 180 for an MKII 120.
Never really regretted it though. Imho the MKII is the better lokking car.
The lack of power was noticable ofcourse, but never really bad.

It's the modding itch in me that had me update to a 1.8 vvc but that was only after four years of driving the 120 with great pleasure :-D
