Well I dont think Ive ever posted pics of my interior, and Ive done a few changes to it so thought I'd show n tell :cigar:

What I've done:
- Silver center console and passenger strip (sprayed)
- Silver TF steering wheel
- Engine start button by gear stick
- Aluminium pedals

Not a long list but IMO its an improvement over standard, so Im happy with it :)

You dont really need a How To mate, its quite easy to figure out as you go along.

Take your radio out, stick your hand in the hole and push the buttons at the top out (they just pop out, towards you), and theres 2 screws you should be able to see just behind where 2 of the buttons were.

Theres another 1 screw on either side of the console, around abouts where your left knee would be as a driver, right knee as a passenger.

The final two screws are hidden behind a plastic blank between the gear stick and the left arm rest/drink holder thing. I forget which end the plastic blank pivots, so just pry it gently with a knife or something similar.

After that, just pull the center console towards you enough so that you can unplug the cables behind (climate control etc) and I think thats it, out it comes! :)

Oh yeah need to take the gear knob off too - pulls off.

When you have the console out the passenger strip should pull off fairly easily, its just clipped on.

Like the steering wheel.

What's the thing with a starter button ? Do you not need to put the key in now ? If you do, then I'm not sure about doing that, then using a button ?

My Scenic had a starter button. Fine with that as a sensor on the key meant that it could stay in my pocket. Just get in, and press the button, no keys.

Yeah, still have to put the key in. Its more for the cool factor tbh - its a great feeling starting the engine with a button for some obscure reason! :D

Hehe, aye thanks again for the console and TF wheel  I think we must have very similar taste :beer2:

Nice, i like where you put the button. Need to get one myself. I had one on my cavalier and must admit it felt well cool pushing a button to start the engine.

Looks really good Tom, nice work!!

I REALLY want a start button, dunno why, just want one but I don't want ot be drilling holes in my nice new Black Oak trim so I'm racking my brains for other places to fit one :hmmm:

Cheers guys :D

Yeah I was a bit hesitant about cutting a hole for the start button, but I had my old console bits spare so it wasnt so bad. Its a bit different with the black oak though cause its so damn expensive!

You could always put the button in the cigarette lighter hole, seen a few people do that, but then if you need that for phone charger or something, as I did, Im not sure what you would do...

Yeah, did think about that and fit an extra couple of sockets underneath for chargers, but I want it on show and quite high......

Cheers :)

The steering wheel is from an MG TF (can get them on ebay but an adapter is needed to allow indicators to self-cancel), and I used Hammerite spray paint on the center console, although it was already silver (bought from Smokey) so it only needed one or two coats to get it looking perfect again :)
