will they fit a 180. have heard before that they make a decent difference. obvisually not the gains piper cams make but a noticable difference. as far as im aware that is the only difference between the 2 kv6's. should give the 180 a bit more low down torque.

the map and airbox are different

Yeah, from what i gather the only differences between the 180 and ZT190 is as mentioned, the mapping and airbox - the 180's standard air set-up is extremely restrictive. No internal differences from what i know and have been told.

forgot the airbox but that wouldnt make a difference with a performance filter on it, the 180 could be remaped to suit the zt 190 cams

Yes the airbox does make a huge difference - why do you think so many 180 owners run the open cone, inner wing set up ?! It's one of the most effective mods known and for relaively little outlay. :)

yes thats why i put with a performance filter on it!

the airflow design on the airbox is restricted ( MGR meant this!)

the cams, mapping and airbox are different, it has also been known for cylinder head castings to be different

i know the differences. performance filter to me means not the standard air box.

what i was basically saying was: is there a benifit in fitting the 190 cams in to the 180 and having is remapped to suit. would there be a bhp gain, torque gain or just a waste of money

but the box can only draw in so much air ( no matter what the filter is, or even if it didnt have a filter)

Too much hastle in my opinion, you could spend slightly more money and go for the piper cams, same work required for fitting and remapping each

im not on about the origional box with a element filter in it. im on about a performance open cone filter. i agree its a better idea to go for the piper cams. but was wondering if it was a good idea to use the zt 190 cams that i can pick up for a few quid at the local scrappy ( they aparentally have a set there) or pay £500+ for piper cams. i would rather go for zt190 cams if the gain was similar bhp wise and save myself a lot of pennies. just wondered what benifits they would have on the zs 180 compared to piper cams. if the zt ones offered 10bhp and the piper offer 14 bhp i would go for the 190 cams and the outlay would be about £400 less

up 2 u, but your still going to be paying for a £300 remap

i'd study the power graphs between the 180 and 190 engines, find out where each one makes it power and tourque etc etc.

i can see the torque doesnt drop off in the zt as fast as it does in the 180. i have always thought my 180 was abit flat after 5000 rpm. so would there be much of a benifit?

Personally I think if your going to the effort of changing cams you may aswell go for the Piper upgrade

just trying to save some money shroon. personally if there is only a couple of bhp in it i will go for the 190 cams and save my self 400 odd quid as i dont think that amount of money is worth a coulple of bhp. if there is a big difference between the 190 cams and piper cams i will go the piper route. just trying to establish the difference between them and see how much £££ per bhp im getting
