I have found out it is an antenna for a phone kit. I don't know if it is connected to anything though. If anyone has the same I just need to know more about it.

Priceless!

Old photo inside my car and the previous owner used it for ferrying their dogs round! :chop:

just follow the wire back and it will screw into a black box (If it is still there) normally located behind the centre console on the ZS's as there is a lt of room behind there, well thats where it is on my one

What else goes with it?

plugged into the black box should be the anttenna (the bit you show in your pics) microphone, speaker and sometimes a display comes off it if it is a bluetooth one or a phone cradle that you plug your phone in

Cheers, will have to get down on my hands and knees and twist my neck like an owl and an ostrich combined and see what is behind my console.

Followed the wires and found all this.
Picture one is the other end of the tax disc holder / antenna

The rest I have no real idea. Is there anything missing?
Does the jack plug go into the stereo?
Obviously it needs something to connect to the telephone.

In the second picture mate thats an autoleads cable

at the plug the cables should be.

Red +
Black -
Yellow is radio mute (if you earth it this should work)
Blue is ignition sense (u can test this with a test light)

You need a microphone

Handsfree control box

Cradle for the phone to charge, (unless bluetooth)

you have the power plug and the headphone jack that plug into the control box (the headphone style jack makes the sound come through your car speakers)

you still have to buy a car kit to fit your phone!

(ps that is for a nokia car kit judging by the plugs but its easy to cut off and join the other car kit plug on if you phones different!)

If you go for the bluetooth option then your tax disc antenna wont be used!

The plug you had would go in the white space on the box in the link, the headphone style one in the space over to the left, (the one beside is for the mic) you wouldnt need the speaker as you would be using you car ones, and the cradle plugs into the black box, and all you need then is to fit the mic!

Hope this helps!

So I have had a little look and one kit I have found is the Nokia CK-300. Does this look suitable?

Looks like a Nokia car kit to me, with a telephone muting add-on.

Here you go

Thanks, that was what I was thinking, now just got to decide if I want to spend £70 on the CK300 or seek a cheaper alternative.

Or the CK-7W or the CK-15W or the CK20W? Which one? Are there any more to consider?
Would the Parrot work?

The CK7-W is a good blutooth kit, have fitted lots of these and not had many problems with them, the only real fault with them is the buttons tend to break sometime is you are to rough with them!

In steves pictures above the middle one he reckons is microphone is actually the speaker plug, it takes the sound from the control box to the speakers, the speaker plug if fatter than the mic one anyway so im sure you will work it out easily enough!

Also the ck7-w will have a smaller black plug that goes into the control box, you will have to cut the white plug of yours and join the matching colours together, just remember not to snip all the wires at once and short them out!

What about a Nokia Cark91 kit? I have a N95 mobile. Would these all be compatible or are the earlier mentioned kits preferable?

Ignore the last, answered the question myself.
