ok after thinking about whether or not to get a 180, i'm gonna keep the 120!

revised list of mods.

I'm gonna get the induction kit and 52mm tb now. i'm gonna get the buckets later.

I found two induction kits.

Why is the second one considerably cheaper? I would go for hte most expensive one but will it be worth it. Are there better kits out there for a 120?

Cheers! And Felicity can rest assured she won't be sold ;)

I'm going to go out for a blast later on to show I still care

the top one is a closed cone, the second is an open cone

I had one identical to that top one on my 1.4 ZR since almost new and loved it. Great performance and a very very nice noise off of it.

Being carbon cased it won't suffer nearly as bad with heat soak as the second open cone will

don't pay either price though! They come up on ebay fairly regularly for easily half that and just require a quick clean

Infact I happen to have one identical to that second one for sale at the moment, but with all the pipework required to fit it into the inner wing - negating any heat soak issues totally!

how much you want for it then? :)

Have seen in a few places that a larger TB is a waste of money, certainly until you have done almost everything else, could be worth looking into.

Got a cat back exhaust system, was going to get the TB as well as/after the induction kit. The 52mm, not 56mm for obvious reasons.

how efficient is an open cone in the wing going to be compared to an enclosed kit with a caf?

lol well i have an K&N apollo and its **** hot on the 120 got one on mine and you can feel the diffrence just run a cold air pipe to the front and the good bit is it can be open filter or closed open in the winter is loud closed sounds really sporty

i would fit the tb aswell. can get a 3-5 bhp gain from that combined with a good inner wing induction kit

i personally beleive the k series benifits from a good set of ignition leads. the standard single core leads are very small. you can get a good quad core set for £30

i am just concerned about heatsoak with an open cone.... how does yours cope?

you wont get any heat soak in the wing. its the coldest bit. a open cone in the engine bay suffers alot heat soat. i origionally had mine in the engine bay then moved it in to the wing. made a load of difference. even the noise it made was different.

So i'll be putting the cone right next to the battery, as near to the headlight (where the hole at the bottom is) as possible?

no. it will run under the battery tray in to the wing. sits behind the plastic mud guard on the front left wheel. ill pop up a pic if i can find it.

if your going for the viper it may be located under the battery cover (the filter)and the cold air feed run in to the wing. if you go the open cone route there is no need for a cold air feed as the filter its self in popped in to the wing

that'd be cool, I probably have the tools required (including haynes) but would be good to have a hand from someone that's done it before. I'll ask Mick if he doesn't mind helping me out as he's closer, if he's too busy then if you could help me out that would be grand! thanks for your help mate much appreciated. can't wait to hear that rooooar ;)

you dont need to take the front bumper off as you can remove a bolt under the bumper that will allow you to pull part of the arch back and slot the filter in put the apollo in but sounded **** so took it off

afcbadam

i needed to take my bumper . you need to remove the resinator box to make some space for the filter.

Let us know how you get on mate, as my pipercross just sits in the engine bay atm.

I want to do the inner wing setup but not sure how the cone sits in the inner wing!

Does the 120 have a resonator box?

it should do.

It is easier to do with the bumper removed, doesn't take much to remove it. Anyway, it'll be good to take it off in order to clean it behind there.

Good chance to fit a better horn while you're in there too. I fitted a Sparco air horn while mine was off and it is sooooo much better
