a little dissapointed tbh. car made 183.3 bhp atf and 152bhp atw with the mods in my sig. although before i left the bloke told me there could be another 6-7 bhp in there that didnt show up but would on another rolling road???

thanks to peterzs for showing his support and meating me down there.

I'm beginning to doubt these rolling road figures. I reckon they give you an idea, but aren't that accurate. I suppose you could go to one with a mate to settle the arguements about who's got the most, but the fugures they come out with are a bit unreliable.

i have herd before that they are somewhat unrelliable. the chap yesterday told me and peterzs that the civic type r only makes 180 bhp on his rolling road?

not worried about figures tbh as i only wanted to put on it there just to make sure the engine is running ok before its remap

i agree with what you say dan about been unaccurate

looking at others...

one on here made 200bhp with 171 ft-lbs

mine made 183bhp with 190 ft-lbs

i would have thought higher bhp would make higher torque???

Is your VIS balance valve working?

Shouldnt there be a gradient change at 3k? I would have thought the 'kick' you get would show up on the graph.

Nice torque figure though, must be the decat giving most of that improvement over standard? Not sure how it compares to other Zeds, but I'd be quite chuffed with that output.

i notice a kick at 3k when driving it, never noticed one at 4k though??

standard torque of a 180 is 177 ft-lbs.

well im so gutted! i have just taken the balance motor off only to find the plastic circular thing to be stuck and not touching the switches in side. after giving it a good clean and re-fitting the circle thing correctly, i have just driven the car and, wow, what a noticable difference. i have always thought my zs was flat after 4k, untill now, honestlly guys i cannot beleive the difference after 4k now, just wish id done this before the rolling road :)

Nice one :)

190bhp now then you reckon?

god knows but i really cannot beleive the difference, my dad has just driven it and he cant beleive the difference either! i happy its sorted but pi$$ed off it wasnt done in time for the rolling road! lol

Hi Adam, good seeing you, worth the early start, very impressive and sounded sweet.

At least you sorted the problem out and its most likely cheaper than getting a garage to sort it.

Talk to Mick tomorrow, as he reckons that he can arrange a RR if enough of us are interested.:clap::clap:

Is your VIS balance valve working?

Would broken VIS's affect top end bhp?

afcbadam

it must have affected mine from 4k upwards, as it goes much better now.

thanks peter, i hadnt realised how loud the car was, standing away from it and hearing it when it got in to its stride really impressed me :)

The graph showed there was something not right as there is a dip after the power valve that never recovered. Some rolling roads do suffer inaccuracies but alot depends on the quality of them and how well they are maintained and managed. Catch up tomorrow fellas.

i beleive this one to be about right. its fairly new and well looked after. 183.3 bhp was most proberly a very accurate calculation if my power valve was playing up. the main thing is it made good torque at 190ft-lbs

which one is the balance vis?

the one thats a ****** to get to. lol the one that sits side on.

Would broken VIS's affect top end bhp?

It was the torque curve that I was looking at. The dip without recovery from around 4,500 rpm that was the giveaway. The torque curve for the KV6 engine should be fairly flat between 3,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm.
