205/45's were standard fitment, some changed to 215/40, these give the same rolling circumference. The rubbing issue is probably the wheel offset as they are not original alloys.

My 18's rub on heavy bumps or fat passengers! The offset is the reason for me, hey ho!

Ur right the rubbing is from the arch about 1/2" from the edge of the wheel! however the 40's on the same alloys neveronce rubbed!

Not alot of difference, but then might have been just clearing before. However are the tyres the same make? Tread makeup can differ between manufacturers even if the same size tyre is used.

yeah I found that very thing with my old 18s, the budget tyres that came with the wheels rubbed off the shock turrets on the front of my old ZR so needed a 5mm spacer - but the Yokahama Paradas were fine with no spacers.... and both tyres were supposed to be identical dimensions! Weird!

I did change from Pirelis to Avons! Ill just have to be bit more easier on the bumps!

did you fit the rear arch lining around the filler neck or is it still just a big hole? I found mine rubbed quite a bit when the arch lining was fitted on big bumps

I get rubbing quite a lot on bumps... OE tyre size & OE alloys. Maybe i should drive differently. ;)

...Looks like you did some 'hairdressing' on the dog while you were at it.
