I remember getting a battery for my Mum's R75, it was retailing at £99!, go a loan of a card and it brought it down to £59, so a result was had.

I've got a mate who works there, so even better discounts are to be had

Quite often "it'll be at the back door in 20 mins" kind of discounts lol

lol you think thats good work for them you get trade then staff discount so take a further 15% off your price

did i mention i used to fit handsfree kits once for them? my methods were very similar ;)

Er... you need to be in the trade and be able to prove it. You take your payslip or other proof to the parts counter and then they give you the trade card.

you can be a student doing a relavent course as well. my mate gets his for doing motorsport engineering.

99 Quid... :yikes: Even at £59 i'd say you were had. My uncle sells them at about £60 all the time.

4 years now and you dont need to be in a trade you just need to find some one with the managers username and code and you will be able to process the details through the computer

You can apply to become a Trade Card member at any Halfords store. Simply ask a member of staff to help you complete your application and bring with you your proof of working in the motor trade – outlined below:

City & Guilds in Motor Mechanics Certificate or garage payslips

Self–employed Mechanic


High volume of local motor factor invoices from last 3 months

Mobile Mechanic


City & Guilds in Motor Mechanics certificate or high volume of local motor factor invoices from last 3 months

Small Independent Garage Mechanic


Recognised payslips for employee, high volume of local motor factor invoices from last 3 months or City & Guilds in Motor Mechanics Certificate

High Volume Parts Buyer
(or frequent user of car parts)

yea same here i just bought pads to. some things work out stupidly cheap, i think i paid like less than a tenner for a set of wipers.
