Has anyone ever bothered with this on a zed, keep thinking what a waste of ponies. I hardly ever use it, in fact it probably needs regassing anyway, I just wonder what if any difference there'd be with the pump etc removed, less drag on the belts and all that.

Any thoughts :hmmm:

Good question that as I have been thinking along the same lines, remove weight as I seldom use mine tbh.

Hadn't factored for the weight of the pump but fair does, yeah. Would be interesting to know if anyone has had significant rewards.

Mine is used fairly regularly. Wonderful for de-misting the front window.

For those wondering it is a PAIN to remove :p

Trust me ;)

And I use mine all the time, specially in the winter to heat the car up etc.

Is it not just a question of unbolting it or is there more to it that? Do you mean the V6 is a problem, coz mines a weedy 120.

Err, heat the car up???????????????

It's getting it degassed, disconnecting it from the rad, removing the rad then unbolting the pipes and compressor etc which is all an arse to get to unless the engine is out.

For the time/effort the weight it will save is not worth it, and the power it takes away...not noticeable.

On the KV6 you'll need some sort of pulley system making to replace the aircon pump

Ah yes well I only know about the V6. Sorry!

Yep, go and try it, turn your fans on and heat on full, wait till you have hot air coming out then push the A/C switch, much more and hotter air. Great for the winter when you want to warm up quick and demist the windscreen in no time at all! :)

I probably use mine more in the winter than I do the summer :)

You can remove the A/C compressor, and all the stuff that goes with it, but you dont need the pulley what you will need is the Vee belt for a non A/C 120 or even a 110
