Well as some of you may have read im after a decat to complement the js cat back ive got now contacted ptp about possibly fitting the zr decat but apparently they wont match up however got this email back

Hi James

Unfortunately it is not that simple. In theory the Manifold will fit the ZS at the head end because both the ZR & ZS use the same engine and gearbox, however in joining the manifold to the intermediate pipe would require a new de-cat being introduced. If you can find 10 people who would be interested in this modification then we would be happy to proceed and look at manufacturing a 4-2-1 manifold and de-cat/sports cat for the ZS 1.4, 1.6 & 1.8.

Please let me know if this interests you.

Kind Regards

Richard Watson.

I would be interested in manifolds if the price is right. I've already got a s/s downpipe... do I have to commit manifolds AND downpipe, or can i pick and choose?

Definatly there will have to be a decent saving compared to the janspeed option to make me take it if im honest! Will have to see what they come back with, :)

As if they did a 1.4! Just seems wrong to put such a small capacity engine in a family "sports" saloon.

Id be interested. Does this mean it will have no cat as I can't be bothered to change before every MOT, unless the swap-over is very easy.

the swap over is 4 bolts, might be 5 like the v6 system

Easy for a novice?

yea, providing the bolts come un done. best thing to do is to put some good quality stainless bolts in, that way they shouldnt rust and come undone alot easier. if you get a pro to do the exhaust get him to do the bolts up (stainless bolts) by hand not by an air gun. this is what i done with mine

So far the information Ive recieved back is that the manifold would be mild steel same as the one already avaliable for the ZR but the decat/ sports cat would be stainless, As far as fitment and MOTs concered it would be a different fitment all together much like the Janspeed option so would either mean getting the sports cat or swaping over the whole lot come MOT as the Manifold will not have a cat built in, Still no Idea on price but will try and get a rough guide out of them before confirming!

That's prob me out then if I'm honest. I would prefer a manny with a cat built in cause I can't be bothered changing it over before every inspection

Well thats where the sports cat would work as that should be enough to pass MOT emissions but again this is something Im waiting for a definate answer on,
